Money talks.

It's no real surprise - give any club £930m and they'll win the league. I'll recognise it as an achievement as much as I applaud water for being wet.

Of course I'm bitter, but that doesn't make it any less true.

We'll keep the red flag flying high!

Had a mate say to me this week. "If they win the title they might, oh I don't know.. Stop spending? they're good for football".

Yeah fecking don't think so mate.
They will drop another 50+ mill on players this season.

Pay another bunch of shitc**ts 150k/w plus and the world will continue to go on about how they are 'good for football' cause they are beating us to titles

They'll spend another 100m easily, probably net too. Can certainly see Tevez leaving and you just know he was not happy being subbed off today. They're probably stuck with Balotelli though. But I can see them shipping Dzeko out as well and making some insane offer to Falcao, Hulk or Neymar. Might even take Kaka on (marketing obviously).

As I said in another thread, United will keep working hard with good management whilst bringing through youngsters, blend this with a couple of signings, all this to try and win the league. They can keep on buying it. Simple as. That is the way it is, Chelsea did it now it is City. United will deal with it like they always have done. It is teams like Spurs, Everton, Newcasle, Arsenal that need to be worried. These are the teams that would nomally be finishing in the champions league spots were it not for Mansour and Ambromvich. They are not good for football in any way.

Money talks but credit to the manager for gelling them and giving them that winning belief and finding a system to accommodate all players concerned. 900million or not...when there's an axe above your head and a half empty stadium expecting success, and the pressures of balancing personalities. I'd argue that with an infinite purse you need to gel them.
Check out Scolari, and Vilas Boas as recent examples.

Money was obviously the main factor, but you also need a manager who can bring it all together. Mourinho and Mancini could, the others not so much.

You have to commend mancini for doing a good job at that circus of a club. It wasn't exactly a walk in the park for him with the whole tevez ordeal and what not. Yes they did spend alot of money but in the end they crossed the finishing line first.

What will be more difficult though is staying at the top. Thats been proven time and time again and we will only get stronger and better in the coming years. They can buy as many players as they want but you can only field 11 players at a time. Their team is already set in most positions and you can only buy so many players before they start to get unsettled from sitting on the bench.

That set of players obviously played well and deserved to win the league, the manager managed them well and deserved to win the league.

Manchester City Football Club deserve feck all. I've said this before, as a club they are nothing. If you gave £1 billion to Wolves a few years ago they'd have won the league this season. City are nothing special, as far as I'm concerned we were just beaten by a group of other players. Do it the right way and I'll gladly applaud a team that wins the league but not like this. It's not right.

That pretty sums up how I feel about it too. The players and the manager deserve respect for what they have achieved but City? feck no.

Mansour could have achieved the same if he had just started a new club from scratch. Winning the league this year was the absolute least he should achieve for the money he's spent.

Spot on.

Bless my bird for trying to console me and saying fair play to City to win it in the last 3 minutes like that. I was ready to punch her but resisted and just said they bought the title the big spending shitc**ts.

Call it bitterness if you wan to, I don't care. If we had that sort of spending power we'd of won the league in Feburary. I'll give credit to teams who win trophies through hard work, solidarity and determination, not by throwing money around left right and center.

Makes me respect Arsenal more for sure.

They've been the only team able to stop us domestically without near-infinite funds.

Summed up well.

I like Mancini but his 'handling' of Tevez and Balotelli essentially meant he tolerated them, disowned them when they pushed it too far and then played them again when he needed them.

Standards have been set.

"Wolverhampton thanks you, Sheikh Mansour"

They won the lottery and bought the league. I'm tired of treading on eggshells, that's the truth.

Across the Universe....from Old Trafford.
I did send a note to a City supporting mate of mine hoping he enjoys the summer. not all of them are utter twats.

But the reality is you can buy kin Millwall and make them Champions if you pumped in ridiculous money.

City will remain a nothing club.

When Manchester City were brought, I seem to remember the owners also considered Newcastle United and to a lesser extent, Arsenal.

If the Arabs bought us over, put near a billion into the club and with SAF being manager, all the other teams may as well pack their bags and disappear.

They have Nasri, who only a few seasons ago while playing for Arsenal, criticised City's way of spending. He also apparently agreed to join us before City came sniffing around. They have a manager, Mancini, who was made to look like a goat by Tevez. Mancini said that Tevez would never play again for the club. Mancini then decided to go back on his word and bring Tevez back.

The likes of Tevez, Dzeko and a few others might not be there next season. City will keep spending and spending now as their next aim will be to win the Champions League. Their club will be a revolving door for players now, at least until they get to where they want to be.

It was weird seeing Nasri in all the celebrations (I accidentally watched a few brief seconds). I don't know how I'd be able to support such mercenaries, just like I don't particularly enjoy watching Rooney anymore. It's a shame because they have some likeable players, but I'll never congratulate them.
