I think this formation is the way forward till January. Having Tuanzebe in the team, whether in a back 3 or defensive midfield, instead of Matic and Pereira/Fred(When Pogba is back), is an improvement

I'm so used to Pereira starting now I don't even bother complaining anymore, I just expect him to start, even if performance after performance he's shockingly average and proves he's nowhere near the level that should be required to play for us.

I'm happy if we are playing 3-5-2 as it makes the team more balanced. I think we would be better off having Wan-Bissaka playing as either RCB or LCB though because he is so strong defensively. Maybe Fred and Young as wingbacks. Wan-Bissaka, Tuanzebe, Maguire (central). Then Lindelof sat in front of back 3 with Pereira and McTominay making up 3 man midfield. All 3 of those can produce a forward pass to Rashford and James too.

Fun drinking game. Down it every time Ashley Young punts it long to no one under little pressure.

Bonus: you won't have to watch the 2nd half, because you'll be in the hospital.

Bah. I was hoping Shaw would be back for this.

This guy is an absolute blag, he is consistently preaching about how we shouldn't have to change our style for any team and that we must play our way yet when the pressure is on he changes to a defensive lineup reminiscent of what Jose Mourinho used to get criticized for. Despite his words it's obvious that Ole Solskjaer is fearing that we could get battered in this game and that he is ultimately feeling insecure in his position. Especially when he made it a point to big up the board and owners in that interview he did for Sky Sports.

Not liking AWB at wing back. Hardly playing to his strengths, is it? Would prefer to see a back 4 with Tuanzebe in front as DM, McTominay and Fred CM, Pereira ahead of them, with James and Rashford up top drfiting wide on occasion. That could work as a counter attacking side, hopefully that's what's happening.

So 352 to make us more balanced then play players in completely the wrong positions. Classic.

Was thinking something similar. He’s great defensively but is lacking going forward.

In the last 4 years (since Klopp took over), we've conceded 2 goals fewer then them but scored almost 100 fewer. Bit crazy

You're assuming he's going to be given licence to roam forward. I think it's more likely he's going to be given licence to track Mane wherever he needs to.

Klopp using this game to rest Salah. Fair play.

When his name was on the team sheet I opened my first can.

Cant wait to watch Young, with the look of a bad back 90 year old looking for his walking stick, boot the ball down the sides.

Wouldn't mind a diamond but have Lindelof at base of diamond and Tuanzebe and Maguire as CBs. Fred and Pereira either side of Lindelof and McTominay at the top of diamond. Sides of diamond need to be mobile and diamond itself needs to be balanced. McTominay also provides a different threat when attacking in open play.

You should text Ole and let him know.

On a more serious note, what we have been doing so far has not been working and we are DESPERATE to get on the offensive. Oles gonads are up against the wall and he puts out that team. You can't really fault him for not taking a chance.

AWB as a wingback makes a lot of sense. He is FAST and has amazing positioning man v man. He's shown some good ball handling ability this season and can throw a cross. We bought him for his defensive game but he's a good offensive player. With the team poised to press so high up, it also allows AWB to take a more offensive role by default.

I love this lineup. Apart from Young who is just not a footballer at this point, this is the best team we can put on the pitch from the players who are not injured. Greenwood, Williams, Garner on the bench, against Liverpool. Just hope that Fred is on and not off today.

I am thrilled for this game, finally we are showing some ambition with a lineup.

Good to see De Gea involved. And Martial from the bench could offer something later in the game. Tuanzebe in midfield is interesting, absolutely zero creativity in there. At least they are missing Salah...
