It will have been discussed with the owners themselves already, make no mistake. In that case, probably not an awful lot of good, just fancy names that make you think it's serious.

Makes football much less attractive to invest in. The Holy grail for the big clubs is owning and selling their own TV rights, like Madrid and Barcelona. That's what project big picture was about, that's what super league was about: getting a bigger chunk of the TV money.

The Premier League will never agree to end the collective TV rights. Never. Why would the 14 make themselves poorer for the 6? So if the Premier League has this charter and it's backed up by the law then the route to more TV money is cut off.

For many investors that's fine. However, for the Glazers etc it'll a stake to the heart of their vampiric dreams.

Sounds like it might lay out previously non-existent specific punishments for various 'breaches'.

As long as it's not some milquetoast compromise that's potentially going to hamstring fan-led movements.

This is the Premier League protecting the Premier League, not the Premier League protecting fans.

Yeah, basically sounds like "you can't make greedy decisions, only we can"

I really don't see how they can fine the Glazers for wanting to play in the Superleague, or make them sign some charter. It would be totally anti-competitive and massively illegal. Nor do they have the clout to make the big six sign an autograph, let alone a confession of guilt.

It's a load of posturing surely?
