Disgusting performance by the majority and no reason for us now not to play a scratch team in the final game.

I hope you at least had a nice day out at the beach. Kudos for travelling and putting up with this as much as you could.
I drove straight home, Ive never liked Brighton as a town anyway lol!

This is why we have to start the overhaul this summer. No “assessing the squad”. Ralf can tell him who the snakes are. 12 out, 7 in. We need that level of turnaround and fans will be much more patient with the new players as they start to gel than they would with the same players serving up the same old shit.
I would like to think that our new manager has been following the last few matches and can see the dross he has to work with without any input from Rangnick, who, lets face it, has been pretty poor. With the exceptions of De Gea, Ronaldo and Bruno, the rest are not worth bothering with. I know there are those on this forum who dont rate Bruno but until this season he was carrying the team and in my opinion deserves to be retained under ETH.

Another heavy loss by a team who have no "right" to be beating us.
What really surprises me is that so many fans believe that we can beat teams...when we can't, The only explanation for this is either these fans don't watch us play OR they are completely deluded.
Using yesterday's match as an example, 80% of fans thought that we would not lose (we lost 4-0).
Here's the proof:

Our team's form is akin to that of a team fighting relegation. The only difference is Ronaldo. When he decides to put in a GOAT performance, we win. People need to realise that you cannot expect Ronaldo to put in a GOAT performance every match. He has scored 2 hattricks already this season (which is astounding, given how crap we are and how difficult it is to score even 1 hattrick).

Eventually we have to find out what really went on behind the scenes this season, right?

They can't all be this shit, something else must have happend.
Yeah when those yankee leeches go and ex managers of this period bring out books

I actually felt like they took a little bit of pity on us and stopped scoring. Even all the fans who have taken such joy in our demise because we ruined their childhood are probably just cringing and finding this a bit hard to watch at this point.
Yeah we are very lucky mercy was shown

I think we need to stop signing players who don't want to play for the club. Di Maria, Sanchez and Pogba didn't want to be Man Utd players so we just kept upping the wage offers until they couldn't say no.

I am sure there are others too who have never really felt like this was their club. It's just rotten to the core. Don't really know what the solution us but feel ETH will really struggle.

Di Maria maybe, the other two absolutely wanted to be United players, Sanchez was simply finished and Pogba hasn't worked out for a myriad of reasons, he was buzzing when he joined though and by all accounts genuinely motivated. Obviously that has slowly receded throughout his time.

Wow I really thought we’d already hit rock bottom but they’ve proved me wrong again.

A plus one goal difference and one game to play.

One of the most difficult things I've had to do in recent times was to sit and watch the finish of that match yesterday, it was akin to watching the last drop of water run out of a wash basin and down the plug hole, with no sign of a plug any where!

In his short tenure Ralf has received some justifiable stick at times, but overall as a consultant he has done what he was asked to do and that was to expose the cracks in the edifice and boy has he done that! The best thing Ralf did for the club yesterday was to take Elanga off at half time, because making him finish that game could have scarred the lad for the rest of his professional life. Elanga is the only half decent new prospect we've seen all season and to have left him on struggling with others whose careers are now disappearing fast would have been criminal, so well done Ralf for that!

There is not a lot else to say, schoolboy errors, lack of any intensity at all, the finishing off of what chances we did make (when we were already 4-0 down!) only served to make their goalkeeper look world class. Last twenty minutes or so, Brighton seemed almost apologetic for battering us so easily.

'Lock 'n' Load' Eric bring plenty of ammo!

I hope we qualify for the Europa Conference League. From the official Uefa site:

The winners of the UEFA Europa Conference League will take home a brand new trophy weighing 11kg. Qualification to next season's superior UEFA Europa League is also on offer to the Conference League winners.

How is that not tempting?
are you sure you don't get a giant beach ball too?

They are amazing aren't they.
Not really the 'wheels of commerce keep turning'.... but can't imagine many United players will want to sign the shirt?

Imagine years from now United players trying to tell their grandchildren that they weren't there!! .... "no not me son, never played at the Amex!!

I know it's for charity but I'm sure even the Unicef guys are embarrassed at that.

Actually, they could fetch some good bids from Brighton fans, they should retweet it for lols.

Who knows … Could be Ronaldo himself secretly bidding the 13k out of embarrassment just to be able to burn the damn shirt!

The funny thing is, there's a big disclaimer on that bid website where it says only 79% of the proceeds goes to charity, so the club still makes 21% out of it. 21% of 13k is still nearly 3k. Imagine some fan watching the Brighton humiliation and still think to themselves "You know what? I'm giving the club another 3 grand of my hard-earned money!"

Scrolling down on the website, Brentford did the same thing for their historic 4-1 away victory at Chelsea last month and most of their team's shirts went for under 200 quid. Bargains! Eriksen's shirt fetched the most at 1k, for scoring his first goal since his cardiac arrest witnessed by the whole world (fair play to him for even wanting to part with such an important shirt for charity). Meanwhile, Ronaldo's shirt is getting more than 10 times that for watching his team get hammered 4-0 and laughing out of disbelief.

Biggest club in the world, eh?

I thought I'd seen some sh*t shows in my time following United, even 1974 desperate days, but at least those blokes tried, they just weren't very good. Ten Haag has a massive job but I hope to God, he is given time. Success won't be instantaneous but I guarantee there will be people on here damning his appointment after 3 months. He has to rebuild around those who really want to play for the badge, some really promising kids coming through and shrewd signings.

I agree, even during the dark days of our fight against relegation there was always hope as the players never stopped trying; Tommy Docherty for all his faults was a very good manager and would never have allowed them to. We had been in a tail spin for some time and though the team tried they were simply not good enough to survive that final season, and in many ways going down was a relief and we regrouped and stormed back to the top flight the following season with the sort of exciting, attacking style of play that harked back to the great days of Law, Best & Charlton in their pomp! We wont suffer relegation but will we respond to this otherwise terrible season in the way Docs rebuilt team did? I hope so, I pray for it to be so, but somehow I cant see it happening.

He wasn't 100% my top choice but better than some other names mentioned (and near enough the top for me to think it might work) so of course he must be given time. And I've always confessed to SAF not being my top choice in 1986 (success has truly wiped out any memory of who the hell it was I wanted!)

But we can't go down "the plan is working" route ever again either if it clearly is not... I still have a bad feeling that the board is hoping he will get us play some exciting football to con us into thinking everything will be all right, to cover the fact that once again they missed out on top managers who were available had they sacked Ole earlier or not given him the job full time ever...
