Is he actually any good or just pure internet hype?

Back the manager, lets get the players the manager wants.

First midfielder to go to Villa and everyone saying we missed out.

Really, he went to Villa, people who actually think he would snub United for Villa must be completely deluded.

I would argue most of the people who say he’s ‘probably no good’ haven’t watched him, rather than the other way around actually. Very good player but having said that don’t think this is necessarily worth another thread. We didn’t try for him, nothing we can do about that now.

Redcafe: «why do we always buy over-priced players from PL teams, rather than looking for talents before they arrive at a top team?»

Also Redcafe: «Kamara who? Do not want, probably something wrong with him since I have never heard about him»

Redcafe when we get linked to Kamara for 70 mill next summer, after a decent season in the Prem: «we should really get this Kamara guy, he really looks like the real deal».

He isn't very good on the ball from the accounts I have seen, maybe that's why we passed up, but he may have been a good squad option considering we have zero DMs in the squad
He is very good on the ball, How many matches have you seen with him involved roughly?

He has been generally good in Ligue 1, sometimes very good but at this point in time he isn't in the category of player that you "missed out" on before he even kicked a ball for his new club. Maybe he will develop into something special but we are not talking about Fabinho or Tchouaméni. If you want an example that is closer to him and coincidentally failed, you have Nampalys Mendy.
Granted Boubacar Kamara seems to have performed better statistically in Ligue 1, another player that comes to mind for me is Boubakary Soumare who joined Leicester. He's had no real impact in his first season, next one could be telling for him mind, and Kamara if he struggles in this one. I feel Kamara will fare better mind, he seems more consistent.

Some journalist close to Athletico Madrid said they were told “club knows what it is doing” when they were asked why they didnt complete his signature. There must be something that has put off every club which was interested in him

Clearly not only United, but Aston Villa super-scouts clearly spotted what every single top club didn’t because of course, Kamara is such a no brainer of an addition for top clubs.

Why are some posters are hell bent on criticising the club at every opportunity even when there are no grounds ? You can tell such people are no better than Ed Woodward, they haven’t seen the player week in week out yet they become experts overnight and want us to sign the player whether it’s the right player or not. Straight from Woodward’s book. And by the way where is this fanfare coming from ? Based on what ? The guy to me looks bang average. I would understand to some point if we are missing out on a player like kimmich on a free but it’s kamara. Who is kamara ? You would think we are missing out on prime Edgar Davids.

Also, a free transfer doesn’t mean he is free of all costs. You do know it still takes significant money to commit even if you are a free transfer, signing on fees plus more agents fees, on top of that high wages especially here at this club. And why would you do that if the player isn’t good enough or doesn’t fit in managers style or plans ? Then they go and moan about the incompetence of Woodward and his cronies regarding the transfer policy without realising they are cut from the same cloth and are no different to them.

I’m sorry but that is so idiotic and annoying. We signed a modern manager progressive manager for the first time who is a workaholic. Every man and his dog knows the weakness of our midfield and he knows that too and even after all that he doesn’t sign fecking boubakar kamara then means maybe just maybe he isn’t good enough. Even if you think you are smarter in knowing what players we should sign without even watching the player then no body can help you. But atleast back the manager and trust him.
