some really embarrassing Pogba fans in this thread… the extent some will go to defend him. Wow.
Even when I disagree with them, I'll never get irked about somebody defending a Manchester United player. I thought Pogba was massively overrated the entire time he was here. But I always had a grudging respect for the posters who bigged him up while he was wearing the shirt.

Now, however, he's ex-United. It's time to stop with the delusion and admit how average he is.

On a side-note, anyone who wishes ill on a United player (be that Maguire at the moment or Lingard when he was here) can feck off.

Christ. Who thought this would be good PR for his documentary.
A handful of footballers involve in these and most of them are pretty similar. A bunch of yesman around them telling that he is a brand and they are caring for his brand etc. Most of these are so uneducated and delusional that they can't even understand these documentaries are terribly cringe to watch.

But anyway, I am glad we move on from him. He represents everything wrong about the Woodward era.

Thank god he turned down this "nothing" 300k. Would've been another masterstroke from the Glazers and their stooges (whoever they may be). Saved by the greed of Pogba, well played.

we really need to stop talking about him, he spent half of his time injured and the rest thinking he was better than he actually was. In reality he was a bit of a flop who never performed consistently as he should and went missing in most of the big games.

How right was Fergie, and how bad is it that we never had anyone that Fergie mentioned would be able to show him the way.

If those quotes from the thing he made, hell if I'ma call it what he's call it, then that is a horrible view to have as a former player, just terrible. 300k nothing, fecking hell.
I suspect if it was in there, it will be edited out now before it comes out, if works that way.

We offered him 300k ? wtf !
We offered him the same wages he was on already on. No salary increase. And we only did so at the last minute.

It was a 'nothing' offer in terms of how little effort/thought was put into it.

Technically, it was a new contract. But in terms of how these things are usually done, it was seemingly offered in bad faith.

Basically a rejection from Manchester United that the club PR could spin into a rejection from Pogba. He's a bit of a fan favourite, after all. We don't want to be seen as tossing him away like trash. Even if we are.

Must be nice when a player can scoff at 300k per week and think it's nothing. Shameless.

He's very lucky he got that amount offered with his terrible injury record lately.

How last minute was it? Probably 2 or 3 before the season ended at least I would think? Considering how we run as a club, that would be quite early

The club is run like an advertising agency for celebrities. Presenting early contract extensions to Instagram influencers with undeserved wage bumps is exactly what we've doing for years.

The playing side is separate from the business side in that respect. United have set the industry standard for kowtowing to player demands.

From The Athletic:

Honestly just everything that comes out of this guy's mouth must be so infuriating for United fans.

Genuinely think all things considered he must be one of the worst PL signings I've ever seen. Record fee for a guy that had about 1½ good seasons, completely poisoned the club, his huge wages pushed the club into other bad deals like Sanchez and De Gea's extension, and the optics of him leaving AGAIN for free.

As a neutral even I'm happy he's gone to be honest, and I can't believe there were some sections of supporters who wanted to keep him (albeit a slim amount).
I feel his influence on some of the other younger lads has been underplayed, especially when stronger, older heads left and he became a senior player. Lot's of noise of he's "well liked", AKA he's popular. Doesn't mean he's a good person or a good role model. Well liked because he's driving everyone's wages up probably.

Hmm I'm not sure about this part. Don't think he gives a feck about the club.

The club offered him the same wages he was on and probably hoped they could recoup some transfer fee if he left. Thank goodness he has left.
Ah the tactic of keeping them in contract to retain their value. How well has that worked out for us? Yes, I'm delighted that he has gone. What a disaster he was here.

Pogba doesn't give a shit about the club. But he does have a die-hard fan club in some sections of the supporters. His social media following alone is proof of that.

Of course, just as many people dislike him as like him. But you can't judge fan-favouritism by taking the average. If 100 people love a player, 20 people are indifferent and 100 people hate him, that player is still a fan-favourite for 100.

Not great. We only have ourselves to blame by offering these ridiculous wages and becoming some sort of mercenary club rather than a club players want to play for.
Not ourselves. The Glazers. They're not one of us. They're parasites.

It's hilarious that anyone would believe City were interested.
I could definitely see Pep being interested. Pogba is the most talented midfielder on the planet. The problem is that he is a bit of an idiot with absolutely no idea of how to utilise his skills. Pep would like to think that he could work with him on the training ground to teach him positioning and get it into his thick head that he is not press resistant so just play the pass quickly if being closed down.

It's similar to Adama Traoré. He has all the skills to be the most dangerous winger in the world- just not enough intelligence to use those skills effectively. I guarantee Pep, Klopp etc have run the rule over him more times than his actual performances have warranted because of that voice in their heads telling them that they could be the ones to unlock his potential.

It's not. This thread has been an embarrassment because a lot of posters have actually claimed that the dislike for Pogba is because of prejudice towards the color of his skin, and hinted that people dislike him because they're racists, they just don't know it.

He's 29. Part finished as top footballers. A very good player if he knuckles down and put some effort.

But that's about it. 150k is good enough considering the exposure he brought. But 300k? Only top teams can afford that and most of them has better players in mind

He's fecked. And feck him.

If he goes to Juve it means 2 things -

1) The top clubs - Real, PSG, Man City etc dont want him. I dont buy it for a second that he would turn them down for Juve to have a nice comfy life or something
2) Juve and Pogba fkd Man Utd more than a club/player combination ever has. Juve got him free as a kid, sold for 90 and now get back on a free! Wow. Thanks for that Juve. The worst part of it was selling us a dud for 90 though.
To be fair, regarding point 2 the player Juventus are getting back is complete shite who hadn’t broken into a run since 2019.

I can't believe we even offered that much given how inconsistent he was.

How people have defended this clown on here is really strange, he sums up all that is wrong with the modern game. But finally we have found his best position, a retirement home in Turin.

These contact offers the article mentions were likely withdraw once Ole was sacked and Rangnick evaluated Pogba.

Rangnick had next to no influence on things at club level and they were said to have got on well anyway.

In the current financial climate it's up there with the most tone deaf thing a footballer has said in a fair old while.

Entitled and shameless is how it comes across to me. He should know better than to come out with that.

Are you mad?

After his performances and dressing room disruptions, offering him the same astronomical wages he was already on before the the renewal was generous.

Lucky he turned it down and fecked off.
