Hes our talisman .. our highest paid player.

Let that sink in.
This is the interesting thing for me- would the club sell its star player and local boy if it meant signaling a cultural reset (yes, another one) or do you give him another chance under another new manager when the inevitable happens with EtH? To my mind he was outstanding for a good part of last season but something just hasn't been right this season and EtH has had all sorts of crap to deal with, and Rashford hasn't helped. His performances under Ole/Ralf in that season can't be forgotten either.

I'd be absolutely astonished if anyone at the club would think of selling him, even under a new direction though.

He needs to be suspended, and then sold at the end of the season.

Whether you think it's a big deal or not, the true great sportsmen would never do something like this. In fact, I'm fairly certainly most professional athletes would be told not to put this into their system at all throughout the season considering how crucial diet and lifestyle are in modern professional sports. The fact he did it and was hungover for a training session is absolutely pathetic.

Disgusting attitude. Clearly doesn't give a toss for the club. Going out on the piss more important than winning trophies at his boyhood club. Put him in the reserves. Put him immediately on the transfer market. Absolute ballbag.

Not mad at him. Anything he does to worsen his position as the being seen as an untouchable at the club is fine with me.

The issue with that is, it isn’t his first time being this way and I’m not even referring to the poor football. His body language/demeanour is just off. We have new owners who seem to want to be the change within the club.. and he goes out partying and phones in sick the next morning.. what does this say about him? Of course we don’t know the full facts.. has ETH said anything about it?

something is just off with him. I don’t know if he has too much power and money. Can any 20’something year old with that level of wealth/fame/prestige stay humble? I don’t know. Something just isn’t right with him and hasn’t been for a long time (Barr his purple patch last year). He just seems off.

it’s a shame because the potential with him was so big. He could have been a great at the club. Not anymore. Nowhere near consistent enough and lacking the mindset.

As if you lot haven't all called in sick after a big night.
I cant imagine a world where if I got to play football for Manchester United I wouldn’t run through brick walls for the badge. What a privilege it would be. I truely believe it’s the best job in the world. I wouldn’t dream of fecking it up.. but I guess that’s easier said than done, clearly.

Rashford has been at the club and the star boy during a period where we have sunk from being in the fight for real trophies every year, to regressing into midtable garbage. The player has shown glimpses of brilliance, which landed him hefty pay increases, but then he suffers multi-season long dips of form that produce some of the most abject performances we've seen from anyone thats ever worn our kit.

There's no question the physical ability is there. The problem is that the drive, desire, and the intangible spark that fuels winners to expect nothing less than victory, is completely and utterly missing in Marcus Rashford. What's worse, is that he carries himself as if he was on the 98-99 squad or is Cantona himself. He can't fix any of his shortcomings and dips in performance if he thinks he's already the man, and if he sees any criticism towards him as unwarranted and based on some other nefarious motivation not football related.

TLDR - Rashford is a headcase and loser and we're not winning anything with him at the club as the focal point of our attack.

Surely won't be seeing him in the team for a while now?
If true there can’t be more chances for this guy. One month fine and on the transfer list. He should not be near senior team. We have been clearing out pretenders last couple of seasons but I guess there are few left to sell.

He's not serious. Tired of this guy. Hope to god we sell in the summer. One of the few left that has been here throughout most of the banter era. He should be setting the example, but he's a disappointment too often.

He's been hot garbage this year. Conveniently, right after signing a fat new contract with a huge pay raise which was a huge mistake. His head is gone. He thinks he's too big to follow the rules. He can feck the feck off as far as I'm concerned.

These PSG quotes pop up all the time in Rashford threads :houllier:

Is Ed Woodwood working for them now?

Imagine selling Mbappe and replacing him with Rashford!!
Eh, I don't think it's as crazy as it sounds. He's still a reasonably big name, has shown he CAN be very dangerous when his heads screwed on right and his physicality would be well suited to the French league.

I'm not for a minute saying he'd be the best option for them, but we're forced to grasp at straws here really when looking at where to possibly move him on to.

Can you think of any better alternatives? I fear we're stuck with him really, especially with the whole 'United born and raised' factor.

He doesnt have a desire to be a top top player despite having the talent and time to do it. He started as a first teamer at 19, has eveyone behind his back and managed to finish last season well enough. But he never pushed it, never built on top of previous season and started all over again. Mentality is hard to change so we probably have to accept he is going to end up like Martial and plan things accordingly e.g. not expecting or relying too much on him and his development.

Clearly last seasons performances were for a new contract. Now hes got it, he has been fecking off the hook. Zero respect for the club, fans and even his teammates. I wanted him sold after his performances under Rangnick. It doesn't matter if you rate the manager or not, you still have to put a shift in. Was so obvious back then he couldn't give a single feck about the club.

Hopefully INEOS isn't as dumb as our previous regime and actually has the balls to sell this guy. He isn't even that good to put up with this kind of bullshit. Average as feck player who has been hyped up way beyond his actual ability.

Let’s terminate his contract. He’s been awful this season and this sort of behaviour is unacceptable. Selfish as feck.

Whatever the truth of it all is, it's not a good look and he should know better. He's supposed to be turning into one of the senior players and leaders here, should be the face of the club. Instead, as his form is falling off a cliff, he's missing training? Not like his long term spot as a starter here is extremely questionable as it is, given Garnacho looks a much better player right now. Not good.

Players are as soft as shite these days!
The most famous sportsman to ever come out of Belfast could do three or four nights out on the lash, shag a couple of worldies and still turn up on game day and bag a hat trick.

I think it’s time we let this guy go. I don’t drink personally and I’m not even close to a professional athlete. I run a business though and work basically 7 days a week so…

It leaves a bad taste in my mouth when someone is earning (given) 350k a week to look after his body and doesn’t even do that.

We’ll never win a whole lot with such players as the main men I’d argue. He’s a pace player into his late 20’s soon you need to just sell the guy and reinvest after 2 out of 3 awful seasons.

Hopefully the club put out another statement saying he's got Covid or some injury so it doesn't affect his potential transfer fee then feck him off in the summer as he wants to explore pastures new.
