Rashford probably thinks he's bigger than the manager and over the last few years he would've probably been right. Ratcliffe's first real test.

What I never understand is why the club doesn't have a knobhead clause, if you act a knob you don't get paid or even your contract is void? You'd think with the amounts of money that would be pretty standard.
and would do you think that would work? lets take the current example, Rashford gets to walk away and join another club without any transfer fee? theres a reason clubs are very reluctant to terminate contracts of their better players / more valuable assets. remember the romanian guy, was it Mutu? who chelsea sacked and then it all ended up in court as he ended up with a big contract elsewhere?

The Rashford defenders in this thread are just comedy at this point, some of you have no shame. There’s not even straws left to clutch, it’s pitiful . Rashford could gob in your tea, piss in your cheerios and shart at point blank range in your face, but it would still somehow be the ‘toxic fans’ fault,

The knobhead clause would mainly be on the wages, only extreme cases would you rip up the contract

Lingard wouldn't have even made it through his HR induction

Wouldn’t surprise me if Rashford’s ‘team’ have been approached by another club to come up with ways of getting his transfer value down.
Either way it’s all fekkin stupid behaviour

If we don't sell Rashford we really are idiots. He's somehow got this tag of being a top class player with a lot of pundits and I feel a couple of clubs like Chelsea and PSG possibly would be stupid enough to take him for decent money.

Cash in and cash in asap !!! Use the money towards the rebuild. Rashford is not the future if we have ambitions of being a top team again.

Come the end of next season, the rest of the world will have realised he's average and we will be stuck with him

Too subjective to be enforced

You could sack players for doing TikTok dances because in my book that makes you a knobhead but in the real world it doesn't.
& here we have the disconnect from the elder generation and the younger generation. Sacked for doing tiktok dances

Whilst I feel it’s pretty silly thing to do, being sacked for it just screams of old man shouting at cloud

The club should tell him that he will be sold in the summer......we will not reach our goals to play for the major trophies with his performances on and off the pitch.

All thread is like that.
Was he unprofessional, yes. Should he apologize, yes.
I would be bigger moron to call a kid a names (and he literally can be my kid).
I am just mad he didn't call me on night out too. Private jet, VIP, probably good champagne...
Its for the club to maintain standards, if you are slacking move on. Like on every job.

I hope Rashford and Shaw are sold in the summer.

A brand new left hand side of players would be great. Two players that didn't let a number of our managers down. Especially Jose, Ole, Rangnick and Ten Hag.

Neither of these weak mentality players would do any better even if we did change the manager again. So get rid of them once and for all.

Summer clearout of Shaw, Rashford and Sancho will feel great. Replacing them with better personalities and characters will raise the floor so much.

Martial is being released too and can be replaced with an actual striker who will be physically and mentally present.

Exciting times. Man United have a big opportunity here to do the right thing and properly turn the corner on years of bullshit.

We've started the clearout job with Ole, and Ten Hag carried it on. He's a few players away from having a good group of people and players now.

Hopefully the summer will allow INEOS to show they're for real and make the changes we need. Hopefully by then we have the director of football and head of recruitment we need to work with Ten Hag and Berrada to replace these 4 chumps.
Shaw?

I think his performances alone have managed to do that.

You need to cast your mind back less than 12 months to remember him in form but I was talking about this idea that he has no redeeming qualities at all. And you need to go back a bit further (but still not very far) to come up with some incredibly obvious ones.
He wasn't in form, though, his play was abysmal but because he scored a few goals, a lot of posters on here thought he was the second coming.

He used to be an inspiration and role model for kids, now he's an undisciplined, non-professional shadow of his former self. Let him follow in the footsteps of his best mate Lingard. Get rid - hope they transfer list him.

Would he have trouble passing a medical with that flat back of head? Would surely raise alarm bells

I think there might already be a agreement in place for him to leave this summer and will probably replace Mbappe at PSG.

He has obviously decided he no longer wants to play at United for the long term and the club will cash in.

He is not stupid, he knows the backlash this would cause and when you still go ahead with it then its fairly obvious he's not bothered about the ramifications.

You don't do that if you think you have a future at United.

I think we should cash in. Too much of a yo-yo player and he's far too selfish for a wide player, for me.

About time the club moved forward and bring in team players and not build the team around egomaniacs.

The thing that's really bothered me about him this season is how uninterested he looks. Like he really doesn't give a damn about the club, that running around a bit is beneath him and that everything is everyone else's fault. I really, really hope he can rediscover his form but at this point a move away may be best for all concerned.

It's funny that he starts acting like a dickhead when the manager's under pressure but when a new one comes in that won't be sacked immediately he won't be able to mask bad performances with bad managerial decisions.

This is a player who just weeks ago put in the laziest performance I have ever seen from a Man Utd player against Newcastle. He has been a disgrace all season.
I think he looked a lot better in the first halves of his last two games, and was deservedly rewarded with a goal and an assist.

But yes, it looks like it was too much to expect of him that he’d kick on from that.

Hopefully PSG haven’t seen much of him this season and we can offload him there in the summer. He’s been here long enough now and he’s proven he isn’t good enough on a consistent basis.

There's got to be the other side of the story. The reporting is very one sided. Rashford is just an arrogant immature boy and it's all on him? Same as Ronaldo, Sancho and the list goes an went?

Wonder whats going on behind closed doors. From the outside it looks very toxic. Every player becomes the villain over time.

We can go into the conditions that create this situation and be here all day talking about it but ultimately we are where we are and we need to sort this issue out and then move on to resetting the culture etc which will be what Ineos need to do.

Possibly, but I think he's also a product of a generation at United where they don't listen to the manager, don't put in the effort to change into new playstyles and ramp up the pressure knowing that the manager will be sacked soon and they can start the process again. There's a few that obviously did this, and at least 2 of them seem to be gone now.

Ten Hag has made many a mistake and is probably going to get sacked but it's a lot easier to sack a manager and let bad eggs remain in the camp. Rashford is on his 6th different manager at this point and with not much to show for it.
