The strangest thing happened today, I met a group of about five Dutch lads today and none of them appeared to speak any German. How is that possible @KirkDuyt I always assumed you guys knew your place? And to add insult to injury they were even rewarded with a Dutch R9 masterclass for it. There's no justice in this world.

Great to see Morey make a comeback. Seemed a genuine long term option at RB for Dortmund before that horrid injury period. Hope he can return back to form.

We better restore farmers league status tomorrow, can't have a second title race in two consecutive seasons!
It's Glyphosate or Gladiolus tonight

Malen>Sancho
You gotta be smart about this, and buy him now, before he becomes unaffordable in the summer window. Cheeky straight swap bid?

Es ist unglaublich, dass diese jungen Randalierer kein Deutsch mehr sprechen. Sind wir nicht von deutschem Blut?!
my grammar is rusty, this might be wrong.

Malen seems to have found his form again though. How's Simons doing?

What is happening in Germany? 2 games interrupted.
Been protests every week in most games for a while now, usually in the form of chocolate coins being thrown onto the field.
  • 24 of the 36 clubs from the Bundesliga and 2 Bundesliga back plan
  • German Football League (DFL) is proposing to sell an eight per cent share of its TV and marketing rights in a 20-year agreement
  • New marketing company to be established
  • Deal expected to be worth between €800 million (US$863 million) and €1 billion (US$1.1 billion)
"Opening up to investors, particularly to private equity firms who are after maximum profit, risks them using their influence to maximize their returns, potentially against the interests of fans and stadium-goers," said Jan van Leeuwen, who sits on the board of Borussia Dortmund's official Fan Department, in a statement distributed to journalists at the stadium on Saturday. "

The gist of it.

Wow, does Tuchel copy Leverkusens system?

Neuer – Upamecano, Minjae, Goretzka, Kane, Sané, Dier, Boey, Mazraoui, Musiala, Pavlović

Looks like a 3-4-2-1 for me.

So this like your version of the CVC deal?

Not that familiar with the la liga CVC deal, but fans are worried that this will in the end screw over the fans going to the stadiums and watching at home in terms of increased costs down the line.

Best way to neutralise a back 3 is to play with a back 3. Smart move by Tuchel

I'm not familiar with how La Liga use the money, but yes, at least in a broad sense, that's what it is.

As far as the protests go:
On one hand there's a tendency of organized fans to reject anything going into this direction out of principle.

But beyond that there have been some issues with this deal, that lend credibility to these protests. I think even among the "unorganized" stadium goers the protests have quite a bit of approval, at least as long as they don't overdo it, e.g. by pushing games to the brink of cancellation.

These issues mainly center around communication, the DFL sought approval without going into a lot of specifics about what they intended to do with the money.

And the process itself has also been a bit of a mess. The DFL gave themselves the burden of having to reach a qualified majority for approval and they already failed that once in an earlier attempt a couple of months ago.

This time they just made it to two thirds with their second attempt. But they did so in a secret ballot and public statements from club officials about what way they voted suggest that one of the necessary votes came from Hannover96.

And that is anther can of worms initself, since they were represented by their owner, Martin Kind, who is very much at odds with the club he owns, in particular on this issue.
50+1 (and some laws, I guess) mandate that he should have acted in accordance with the club's position, which would have meant voting down the proposal.

So far they've just hidden behind the fact that it was a secret vote, so no one can tell for sure who voted what way, but that's a bit of a lazy excuse and the implied disrespect to 50+1 makes it especially aggravating for organized fans.

Probably but Leverkusen seems to play in a 4-4-2 today
More a 4231 I think. So Bayern are playing Leverkusens usual system and vice versa? Could be interesting.

Seems way too defensive for my liking.
Feels like Tuchel will try to do to Leverkusen what he did to Stuttgart recently. Park the bus and counter attack, and not try to dominate possession.

What is it with Germans chucking items on the pitch? Wolfsburg game almost got abandoned because of it.

Protesting against a planned investor deal for the league. The voting about it was dubious as it looks like at least one club official didn't vote as decided by his club before... (yes, my club... again... I just hate this clusterf***)

It's a protest against selling part of the league's revenue to an investor.

Was this ever officially confirmed? I thought Kind just said something like "Secret vote, LOL".

I know this is an unpopular take, but some of these organised fan groups take them themselves way too seriously.

If you want to watch „pure football“, don’t watch professional sports.

Actually, these current protests have started talks about re-thinking that investor deal. Previous fan group protests have had significant impact as well, most of those positive for those supporters who dont want to pay more to watch a game on the telly than i do for my stadium seat.

Typical that De Ligt and Frimpong aren't playing when they've been linked with moves to United

I didn't know Timothy Fosu-Mensah was in Germany at Leverkusen.

Bundesliga's marketing / self image is mostly about being authentic and fan friendly. Having influential fans that make their voices heard goes with the territory.
