What is this 2021? England chasing an improbable score and are under 20 with 2 down and root coming to try and save the day.

I never have much sympathy with players furious with DRS when it's clipping. If you didn't want to be given LBW I recommend hitting it.

Not over yet.. Stokes can do anything.. Root has to score big soon.. he is due a massive score.
Great position to be in though.

Realistically the best thing England can do is bat a few guys back into form and lose by < 200 runs.

The real worry for England is that india seem to be putting together a proper batting lineup and the next two tests are going to be tough. I think this will end 4-1, especially with KL coming in for Patidar.

I thought it was going to be 5-0 at the start of this series to be fair. Then a lot happened and I thought England could sneak another test win. It’s been generally good from them so far, terrible last 2 days though.

We don't really have the squad strength to change it up. If we can compete like we have in the opening two tests then even a 4-1 loss will be seen as some progress.

Our best chance was potentially this test match but India have been superb and we missed our window at 200-2.

Yes. In contrast India are getting their composition right both in batting and bowling. I think Root dropping Rohit, and to a lesser extent getting out on the third morning were series defining.

Properly outclassed bar one day here, it’s a completely different pitch when India bowl.

I genuinely don't think it's been that flat since halfway through day three.
Got my timings wrong here. Since the start of day three*.

The one that got Bairstow ripped.

Our spinners are doing ok they're just not particularly good tbh.

Largest test defeat by runs is 675 runs. Against a team with Bradman in.

England have lost one by 562 runs before.

Honestly mad they outbowled India’s over the first 2 tests. This is reality.

Think they'll have to drop Bairstow for next match.

Honestly surprised by how meek this batting effort is. The bowlers getting battered I expected at some point. This is a blast from the past.

How does Bumrah get so much action off this pitch, Jimmy was getting smacked around @ 6’s

Anderson is a classic percentages / line and length bowler which explains his longevity and the amount of success he’s had. Bowlers like him every test side needs. Bumrah has a lot more variation to his game.

I think you under sell Jimmy a little there, he can reverse it at a high level and his armoury is very deep as a result of his experience. Testament to Bumrah that his armoury is even deeper! I think Bumrah’s one of the best I’ve ever seen.

Well and Jimmy is now 41. He's still decent but he's a shadow of himself even three years ago.

This is pretty standard for a dead game situation. You normally get rolled.

England just need to chalk this one off as a bad test match. They'll bounce back ok I think.

That’s a bit of a elephant in the room, England need to develop their pace stocks a bit for action outside of England. Too reliant on Wood as a point of difference too.

Getting nutmegged by a half tracker is a new one. It’s a completely different pitch when India bowl.

This is going to hurt root, dude seemed to played out the bumrah spell but still couldn't score.
