Honestly, football is getting really boring.

Feels like all players are told not to dribble at players and players are taught how to stand/body shape to stop players dribbling past them

Morata has scored plenty of those this season but that's a big big miss.

Well yeah, this game could have been done and dusted if he could finish.
He's scored 20 goals in the league in 22 games (from 14 xG), to go with 21 in each of the two seasons before that.

But yeah, he's missed a few chances in this one specific game and had a bad World Cup, so he can't finish.

Totally forgot Astronautovic was playing for Inter, what a baller. Greatest Austrian product since Mozart.

You can argue he was a rubbish finisher prior to this season but he's been absolutely fantastic this year so you really cannot call him out for one miss here (where he was also off balance).

Sounds like Inter vs Atleti was boring and have to say the PSV vs BVB game was pretty dull too. Won't be tuning into the return leg for either of these toes.

Feel like I’ve been watching Koke in Atletico’s midfield for my whole life
Saul and Koke were high on the cafe's transfer targets at one point. Saul seems to have fallen off a cliff

It´s kind of impressive how rubbish Dortmund are considering that they cashed over 400M for Haaland, Bellingham, Sancho and Dembele. Not a single player on the pitch today that could generate more than 25-30M in the transfer market. Not a single desireable standout player. Just some washed-up former stars and mediocrity. It almost feels like a pitch for Klopp to return to save them again.

I don't remember the exact timing, but did his fall off a cliff coincide with the ink drying on that 50 year contract they gave him? :wenger:

Inter-Altetico second half was anything but boring

Great game by Inter to be honest.. Lacked finishing due to Thuram injury (Arnautovic alone missed 2-3 great chances in the 2nd half) but they were much better than Atletico.. xG: 2,42.
I'm confident they'll go through even if Atletico at home had some insane record earlier in the season (like 20 home wins in a row) before Getafe last month broke the streak.

Yeah was surprised to see how bad they where. PSV thoroughly deserved 3 points from that match

Inter are sleeper candidates to win it to be honest, could have possibly wrapped up the league sooner than others and already have millage of getting nearly all the way to the end.

Shame their attack is so unclinical.

They need the away goal back
I do miss the drama of one goal changing fortunes from losing to winning a tie and all the jeapordy that comes with it. On the other hand, it's really noticeable that home teams play with more intent and less fear of conceding that all dreared away which led to some amazing end to end ties.

Yeah, as someone watching with my eyes today, this was my conclusion

He has been finishing really poorly in CL, but the sample is so small you can't draw conclusions from it

Career wise he's been a normal finisher, scores pretty much the goals he should. This season is an anomaly in that he's scoring at a much higher rate than normal

Lautaro seems like a current day mid-20s Zlatan (in terms of reputation over here, not playing style!). As in the undeniably impressive domestic record on Serie A, but as of yet always seems to fluff his lines in the Champions League and the World Cup.

Was hoping he would be more impressive last night given how he is tearing up Serie A this season, but still looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights when he was through on goal.

Is always lively and helps to create his own the chances through his pressing and movement though, it's just the end product has always been missing when I've seen him. So I can sort of see the comparisons that James Horncastle was making between him and Luis Suarez before the game, and was hoping he would finally finish some chances just to shut Joe Cole up who clearly has never watched any Serie A like the rest of us. But until he starts banging then in in the Champions League he's not going to shake this reputation.

Has he actually played for Argentina since the World Cup too? As his Wikipedia suggests not.

I kinda don't care about Serie A because I don't watch it, I was solely commenting on the fact tonight, he looked incredibly wasteful and was poor in front of goal.

He was Inter's best player throughout last season's Champions league. He scored and assisted at the Campnou as they kicked Spain champions out of the CL.. He destroyed Milan in the semifinal derby.

But the moment I remember mostly is still his failed 1vs1 with Ederson during the final. It was still 0-0, and he could have given Lukaku an easy tap-in...

I believe he's taken part in every competitive game they've played. Only started in 2 though.

Lautaro has a big asset and a big problem: HIS ARSE, I think it might weight around 4 tons. Great to use it with his back to the rival's net, awful for his pace, better said LACK of pace.
Another "minor issue" is that he is very technical, but sometimes due to that, he does not do the easiest or best thing for the ocasion, or even taking too much time more than once.
On the other hand that technique provides him of an all around game that helps his team, moving the ball, holding it, or even assiting + he rans his socks off defending.

This year he has been a real goalscorer, more than a second forward almost mid with goals in him. In CL he has been i general like this last match really good in terms of playing, not as good scoring.
Against Atletico the real MISS is him stopping that pass from Thuram instead of shooting right away, the headers were great headers, specially the one from the first half how he gain the position, the one that ended on the goal it's his BUTT, the mofo can't fecking run, doesn't have a second march for teh sake of it so he was closed ina situation another forward with real pace ends alone with everyone behind eating dust. All in all in he had a very good game but against Atletico at home, Lautaro's miss after Thuram's pass might come back biting their arses... Arnautovic had a good game outside the rival's area, but his form regardoing scorng have been really poor, I felt for the lad because he actually had a very good game when he entered, but he just missed those very clear cahnces and that would hurt even more his confidence.

AFCON seem like an watchable tournament compared to the current CL.
