If When Bruno gets his yellow card (so he can "conveniently" miss the City game), he'll have 10 yellows, which I think means he misses 2 games. Will he miss Forest (FA Cup)/Man City (league) or Man City(league)/Everton(league)?

Misses Liverpool at 5 yellow cards and will miss Man City at 10.

    let it sink in.

are you implying that Bruno is going to deliberately get booked in this game so that he doesn't have to play against City?

The Bruno slander is pathetic. The guy plays more minutes than anyone for us.

What are you on about? He's only had two yellows since his Liverpool ban. He's currently on 7.

With the lack of options for LB, I’m kind of leaning towards giving Kambwala a go.

He’d need to keep it very simple, but I think he could cover there for a couple of games on an acceptable level. Wouldn’t offer us anything going forward but that would just mean that Dalot could play with more freedom to go forward and the other three forming a back three in those situations.

We could of course play Dalot on the left and Willy on his more natural side right, but I wouldn’t want to mess with the right side as both Dalot & Garna have found form and some chemistry there lately.

Probably jinxing it now, but I’ve always found De Cordova-Reid the weakest link of their sometimes decent attack. Kind of an even worse version of Iwobi. A lot of action but no genuine quality or threat. I’d fancy Kambwala against him.

If we do decide to go with a young LB, I’d start Evans as LCB. The most experienced and by far the best communicator out of our CBs.

Hojlund out for 2-3 weeks with a muscle injury. This season is cursed

So Rasmus injured for the City game so he can't upstage Haaland. Cursed luck.

So a line-up something like this then:

    Onana
    Dalot - Varane - Maguire - ???
    Mainoo - Casemiro
    Antony - Bruno - Garnacho
    Rashford

No clue who to put at left-back.

Same here! First time at OT since I was 10.

Guarantee I'll scud us as we drew 1-1 with Basel last trip but fingers crossed!

Hope you enjoy yourself mate :)
But you saw Gary Neville score so that's at least worth the ticket cost

No recognized left back or striker for this game.

Id like to see ETH start Amad, but it will definitely be Antony.

    Onana

    Lindelof Maguire Varane Dalot

    Casemiro Mainoo

    Antony Fernandes Garnacho

    Rashford

    1. Our best right back is playing left back
    2. Our fourth choice centre back is playing right back
    3. Our best left winger will play up front
    4. Our best right winger will play on the left wing

Id take a 1-0 win at this point.

There's something feckin wrong with this club with injuries. Hojland out as he's hitting form. Then we've the likes of Mount and Malacia after having gotten rid of Van de Beek. Complete waste of time these players. (Not Hojlund of course)

    No Hojlund is worrying.

Id honestly just try McTominay at 9. I’d rather that than fecking Antony.

    Onana
    Dalot - Varane - Maguire - ???
    Casemiro - Mainoo
    Garnacho - Bruno - Rashford

I hate to tell you this but I got suckered into the Soccer AM sponsorship by Pukka Pies and went for one at HT, big queue and missed the goal just after the break :(

Sure he would go with Antony in now but I think (Despite it not being his favored position), against Lyon & Leeds I believe Amad played up front in pre-season... keen not to move everybody out of position to try and cover for him otherwise what was working (Rashford LW, Garnacho RW etc) all get's changed.

You don't think we can beat Fulham without him?
Can we? Yes. Will we? Maybe.

But one thing's for sure we will drop points of he is missing multiple games because we don't employ another striker and Antony will probably be playing now as well.....

    Bugger.

I did worry when I saw him walking for his onfield interviews after the Luton game, as he seemed to be limping and walking carefully.

I'm not bothered about the City game, as I didn't have much hope for that anyway. But we have 4 or 5 winnable - and 'must win' - league and cup games either side of that and now looks like Hojlund will miss most of them.

This season's injury record is getting ludicrous. When we finally got most back a few weeks ago, pretty much the three we needed to stay fit due to lack of other options were Martinez, Shaw and Hojlund - now lost all of them again!

What is happening in training? The amount of injuries we’re getting is insane.

Is it a conditioning issue? Professional athletes shouldn’t be getting this many injuries in a season, can’t help but feel some of the back room staff are just not performing to the level they should be (we got rid of our head physio recently didn’t we?)

It says a lot about the squad when you genuinely feel playing McTom upfront is probably the best option after an injury to Hojlund.

Yet some fans expect this team to be challenging for titles.

Would be really nice to see Amad start but it’ll almost certainly be Antony again

    I don’t think he’ll do that but I can see the following team;
Onana, Dalot, Varane, J Evans, V Lindelöf, Casemiro, Mainoo, Eriksen or Mctominay with Bruno at right wing, Rashford at CF and Garnaucho left wing with the premise that the front three are fluid so Bruno will drop in false 9 sometimes and the other two roam or McTominay at False 9.

Gutted about the Hojlund injury. No left back or striker ffs.
Hopefully Rashford will put some effort in.
Amad to start on the right maybe?

Sigh, it's a real gut punch though because he's out for 2-3 weeks and that kills our momentum, but I think we can still beat Fulham. Maybe Rashford goes up front for this, and it's Antony/Amad and Garnacho alongside him. Wouldn't mind if we give Kambwala 45 mins as well. Rasmus is going to be a big miss for the city game and probably Everton as well - Hope Rashford is able to find some form in the next few weeks.

Didn't Ten Hag mention in the absence of a striker in January we'll have to be creative and play Forson or Amad up top. I reckon he will swap Forson out for Hojlund.

Hmm. It’s a possibility, but I think McTominay is much better off the bench. Also think with how horrid Fernandes has been recently, pushing him out wide (even with fluidity in positioning) is asking for more trouble.

I think he keeps the usual 433 we’re playing with Rashford upfront, Garnacho left, Antony RW.

Fair enough injuries are part and parcel of the game but blimey don’t we seem to get key injuries to key players when we are on a good run

Amrabat is probably the most likely to deputise at LB in Shaw’s absence. Rashford will probably go up top in Højlund’s absence with Antony restored to the lineup.
