Id be really hesistant, no matter how challenging it will be, to tear apart the Dalot/Garnacho partnership right now...

    The only team that matters
Fair enough injuries are part and parcel of the game but blimey don’t we seem to get key injuries to key players when we are on a good run

Amrabat is probably the most likely to deputise at LB in Shaw’s absence. Rashford will probably go up top in Højlund’s absence with Antony restored to the lineup.
Lindelof is most likely to start at left-back, he's been the preferred option coming on for the last 2 games when Shaw came off

The more I think about it, it may be less disruptive to replace him with Mctominay and keep everybody else in their preferred position.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rashford goes up top, Garnacho back to the left and Bruno shunted to the RW to accommodate getting McT in the team and as high up the pitch as possible.

I don't love it, but might help Rashford not get bullied and isolated by their CBs.

This season Rashford up front is next to useless. Rashford on the left without Shaw behind him is next to useless.

I wouldn't be against lumping McTominay up top. He's not exactly slow like Weghorst and can at least be some sort of focal point in direct play.

I’d rather start McT up front than Rashford. I don’t think Forson is good enough to start. Not too confident about tomorrow - I think we will revert back to been very dull, slow and not creative.

Doesn't sound great but, yeah, that would probably be the option I'd go with.

Though I expect Antony being brought back in and Bruno staying at 10 is the way we'll go.

What a joke that we haven't got a fit centre forward - ETH should promote a youth team player and hope it works like when Rashford broke through. No point playing him there now: I'm as likely to score as he is. Once again I'll say this: in the summer bid whatever is needed for Harry Kane

I wouldn't be adverse to playing Garno down the middle: his pace will scare their CBs

It says a lot about the squad when you genuinely feel playing McTom upfront is probably the best option after an injury to Hojlund.

Yet some fans expect this team to be challenging for titles.
True. Squad has zero strength in depth and to finish top 4/5 is achievement in itself. Jim Radcliffe and Co have a big task on their hands to makes things for the better.

In favour of trying Forson there. Otherwise I'd play Bruno upfront and let Eriksen play in the #10.

Yeah that's probably what he'll do but Antony is useless and out of form to boot...can only hope he goes with something else.

When the team is on a good run I'd always try to make as few changes as possible...so lets keep Casemiro, Mainoo , Bruno, Rashford and Garnacho where they are!

Just replace Hojlund with a body and hope the momentum the other 5 have continues and will be enough for 3 points.

Playing at Home is a plus.

I would definitely consider playing McTominay upfront. Wasn't he a striker when he was younger?

If we can keep the shape Garnacho - x - Rashford then I wouldn't mind seeing Forson as a striker.

    Expect this:

    Onana
    Dalot Varane Maguire Lindelof
    Case Mainoo
    Garnacho Bruno Rashford
    Forson
    Would like to see this:

    Onana
    Dalot Varane Maguire Amrabat
    Case
    Bruno Mainoo
    McTominay
    Garnacho ------------------Rashford
-McT as a sort of false 9/AM arriving late to feed off cutbacks or loose balls from the wide attacks of Rashford and Garnacho.
-Amrabat's best couple of games for us were at LB, as I recall.
-Casemiro's workload limited by Bruno and Mainoo getting through work ahead of him. He focuses on screening the back four rather than covering too much of the pitch.

The supply lines are big diagonal balls: Bruno to Rashford, Amrabat to Garnacho.

Kane gets sick of having no chance of winning trophies, so he leaves England, forfeiting what would've essentially been the foregone conclusion of eventually becoming the EPL's all-time leading scorer, to head to a juggernaut who are almost guaranteed to win their league every season.

Then, against all odds, an anomalous season by a club that by all rights should be finishing 4th is looking like it's going to stymie Kane from finally getting that trophy after all. This could only happen to him.

And now, if he were to move back to England one season later, he would be known forever as the guy that tucked tail and ran when things didn't pan out his way, again.

If Harry Kane has any amount of pride, he would never consider leaving Bayern until he at least wins the league once or twice. I'd love to have him at United but it's as much of a pipedream as De Jong.

That midfield just screams car crash of lost possessions but I understand the concept. Id put Amad in McTominays stead and let him combine more with the midfield and attack both. Just don’t think McTominay is as effective of a goalscorer if he can be keyed on by defenses, he does better ghosting in unmarked and then finishing and if he can’t do that he’s sort of pointless (apart from set pieces I guess).

It’s all pointless anyways as it seems ETH is opting for Forson to stick with the same system. I don’t hate it, and appreciate him doing this as opposed to shifting Rashford to the middle and playing Antony.

Ah that sucks, but here is hoping you get a new magic moment... maybe Mainoo's first goal at OT, a great Amad cameo, Garnacho tearing up the wings... I hope you/we enjoy!!

Surely Rashford starts as a makeshift forward with Garnacho on the left and Antony on the right. Lindelof could tuck in to form a back 3 where appropriate, with Dalot and Antony playing more like left and right midfielders.

Rashford has done the sum total of eff all in that position all season so I don’t think there is any surely about that.

Aren't we playing against Shitty in a week and a half? we don't have even a little of a chance without Hojlund

Would have had a better chance with him sure. But if it’s Rashford upfront then alls we have to do is time the runs and passes perfectly and we’re through. We’ve had success the last few years by countering against them. A pacy ST is all we need aslong as his finishing boots his on
