Away game and a good win. With all the injuries (Rashford up top and that defence) it’s a pleasing result if not performance. We are creating a decent amount now most weeks which is a marked turn from early in the season. Poor finishing remains.

Amrabat was awful the first 15 minutes. Then much better. Rashford, Bruno..that we are winning with these guys feels like a miracle. Forest were bad, though. Much worse than Fullham. Well done Onana. Good game he had.

Think we were a little better than people are giving us credit for. With a proper goalscorer on the pitch we win that easily. The injuries are killing us though.

Fair play to Casemiro, came up with a big goal from a set piece situation again. It he can replicate that a few times before the end of the season it would be a huge help.

Didn't impact the result at all obviously but I don't understand how yer man isn't getting sent off at end for that blatant choke? It's a million times worse than the Casemiro "choke" last season. I'd say one thing of the ref just missed it but it was a looked at by VAR and still cleared? Huh?

Also I'd start Amrabat over Lindelof in that left back position any day or the week.

Patchy performance but nice to go through.
Not looking forward to the City and Liverpool games.

Onana was decent again tonight and Dalot was probably our best outfielder.

If Forest had won this and got to the quarter finals, at home to Liverpool, it would have been considered they’d exceeded their’s and everyone’s expectations.
If we’re being honest with ourselves, we are no different at this point in time.

Still, we should have a great incentive against the scousers.
We have a chance to derail their run towards a domestic treble.

In the meantime, we’re in for a humiliating thrashing on Sunday.
I’m leaving the country that day, quite literally.
Won’t be able to watch the match and won’t know the result until Monday.
I don’t want to find out either.
That’s how bad I’m feeling about the team I’ve supported for more than 60 years.

Did just about enough, but didn’t expect much more with such a patched up team. City game will be grim but hopefully a couple of players may be back for the next round v Pool.

Overall it was not a pleasant watch. No real patterns of play in attack, and defensively allowed them too many opportunities.
I thought Onana had a good game and hasn’t let the rough start get into his head. Dalot is also having a great run of form. His crosses are dangerous and he puts in a shift both in attack and defence.
Amrabat looked like a midfielder playing at left back, but grew in confidence as the game progressed and he got onto the ball more.
I thought Casemiro wasn’t great (apart from the goal), Garnacho had an off day, and Rashford continued his poor form. The attack in general was really toothless, but also wasn’t helped by an apparent lack of attacking game plan.
Happy for the win, but just disappointed with the performance.
We need something to change. A catalyst to kickstart an improvement. Not sure if the new Ineos management hires will be enough (together with a fully fit squad) or if we need to replace ten hag, but something needs to change.

How uncanny is that goal to Robins’ goal that supposedly saved Fergie. Robins’ was a stooping header from a bouncing cross and the same again tonight. Weird.

We're grinding our way through the end of the season. Scintillating performances are not in the cards and we just have to accept that.

For all the shit Casemiro takes he does dig out key moments for the win for us. Despite the need to better manage the wage bill he's one of the few high earners we should keep, but still find a solid CDM who can cover and soon succeed the legend.

the most functional part of our attack this season seemed to be Rashford left, Hojlund middle and Garnacho right.

With that injury to Rasmus he's completely abandoned it

why not try Amad or Bruno as a false 9

A win is a win...but, man, it shouldn't be this difficult. I think he's going to have to bench Rashford, again. That or figure out how to get him back on the left and someone else up front. What is there to lose to at least try McT up front? If ETH is willing to put Amrabat at left back, why not trying McT up front? What's the worst that could happen at this point?

Won the game but impressed nobody, this is about our level.... I am an admirer of scrappy wins against adversity but when the adversity is of our own making less so, especially game after game, fast becoming some of the least enjoyable post SAF play if not already and that includes the LVG borefest, we are shite, worse than we should be even with the 11 we had on the pitch at the start of the game

It was a pretty comfortable victory, just struggled for the goal which is no surprise on personnel and form. Good win.

Get in there.

Last minute winners are great. We should have been out of sight very early on though, need to be more clinical.

No idea how that wasnt a red card, and if its not reviewed after the game then you seriously have to question the officials.

A match that neither side deserved to win. Just finished catching up with a recording and I can't remember the last time I felt so deflated after a win.

So deflating getting into the quarter finals with a last minute winner away from home. Get a grip

Despite a number of really good chances, we still can’t score goals, even in the cup.
Toothless attack, even when we’re able to scrape together moments of pressure and lay siege to the opponents penalty area.
Can anyone see this changing during the remainder of the season?

Pleased to get through, also noticed our most innovative corner of the season came after the setpiece coach has left.

Delighted with the result. And happy enough with the performance, really, given all our injuries.

With the team news suggesting it could be even worse, I was relieved to see the line up - the lack of a proper LB or striker was inevitable, as was the weak bench, but it was at least a stronger line up than I was fearing. I wasn't expecting us to be dominant or clinical, and we weren't. But we created enough chances to score more - as did they with their quick strikers on the break.

Could have gone either way, but I felt we were, overall, the better team and did deserve it. Shame about the QF draw - really wanted to avoid them and City - but the one consolation is that we're at home so we've got a chance.

Whose back for the Liverpool game?

Hoping Hojlund and Martinez can make it back. They'd make a huge difference.
No chance Martinez will be fit by 17 March, think there is a chance for Rasmus but 50/50. I would say maybe he is on the bench but could easily not make it.

Rashford utterly disgraceful
Casemiro nice goal ibut otherwise looked about 100 years old.
Antony - tried hard but so predictable.
McT should have scored at least once and has a very good knack of getting on the end of things.
Amrabat - the slowest player in Europe

We are shite, hugely fortunate that get through and will get humped by Liverpool in the next round.
Dont like being pessimistic after a win but that was extremely poor
