So many hoops to jump through to even get this going. You'll also have this person and that person rejecting the proposals time and time again.
You would hope the fact local authorities are involved in the process may move things along quicker.
They will have to get creative with the financing but yeah more debt likely. I still think it's worth it.

Put a floating stand above the pitch and have fans there too. It will really up the atmosphere
You can tell there’s going to be a tonne of misinformation surrounding this. People are acting like we’re going to be getting a stadium fully funded by the taxpayer. I’d be shocked if it’s any more than the surrounding area that gets government money.

You do realise that Old Trafford is the name of the area where the ground is located (and the cricket ground) and which the ground is named after. No such place as New Trafford.
2028 would be the 150th anniversary of our founding but might come too soon. Maybe 2028/29 could be the final year at Old Trafford before moving in for 2029/30.
Not to mention the work done with architects previously might not all be thrown out. At the very least they know the constraints of the site already.

You build the new one next door then knock down the old one.
Wonder if there’s scope to keep the old one as the Women’s stadium? Probably too expensive but would be amazing.

We'll go on tour, a different stadium each week. United v Spurs in Qatar, United v Liverpool in Oslo, United v City in Tokyo etc.

I had a dream years ago it was a 200,000 seater stadium, kinda looked mad max style with 1000's of fans above the pitch in cages in a great dome in those roller coaster type harness things. With a normal huge Azteca sized stadium around the pitch.
It must include a statue of Sir Alex Ferguson. Oh and Paul Ince.

Government may have something to say and force hand especially with "levelling up". At the moment some national games are played away from Wembley, so could end up having split between OT and Wembley for more games. Maybe League Cup being at OT and FA cup at Wembley. Could go back to the old way of having semi finals played at OT and somewhere else. NFL and MLB play games in the UK and do very well (with NFL looking at other UK locations) Then you have Rugby League, can easily have England home games at OT as it's closer to the typical northern rugby league support.

This is a major concern. It's a serious atmosphere killer when the crowd are too far from the pitch.

I'm excited about a potential new stadium, but the lack of clarity about the source of funding makes me worried. I don't think we can take on more debt, and I also doubt that the government would fund it either.
