Yeah at times overlapping CB's plus throwing Maguire forward to lump the ball to and work of at times.
But the structure was essentially 3-4-1-2 but the situation called for all our attack and the kitchen sink being thrown. Bruno and Eriksen last line of defence never thought I would see that.
A lot of us have criticised ETH and rightly so but he went for broke in Extra Time to do we were set up 235 formation from 100 mins on.
Please ETH give more of these quality youngsters like Amad. More minutes, he was exceptional today when he came on, defended smartly, used and kept the ball and won the ball back fed Garnaucho and then scored the biggest goal of his career so far, this kid needs a chance now, before we even think of letting Amad go on a loan or permanent transfer he needs 15/20 games. He showed maturity for a 21 year old and the championship loan did him a lot of good.

I can only hope coming back twice, against Liverpool of all teams, will do wonders for playing a part in addressing this

I just want to See ETH give Amad more chances from the bench, he’s so clever as an inside striker or even an attacking 8, because he’s got legs and a lot of squads do not have the stamina he has.
Shame tha Amad was sent off. He cold have get sme minutes in the next fixture with a momentum. Small things like this can affect ones career.

Once we were down 3-2, Maguire played basically upfront with Eriksen and Bruno the deepest players to keep the ball (which worked brilliantly) and Dalot and Antony at full back attempting to support the attack and cover for Bruno and Eriksen too....just brilliant. Reminded me of Fergie football.
I will say this - it's the first time this season I've actually seen Liverpool look shattered. The last thing they would've wanted today was ET, but I suppose it's good for them that the International break is next.
No wonder Maguire seemed to be everywhere - there were 2 of him!

I fully agree and have said all season that once fit Diallo deserved a run of games, he plays a lot like Palmer at Chelsea in that he’s more a wide 10 that can play just as well out centrally as out wide so is always finding space which would help us out creatively as well as creating overlaps.

Was silly wasn't it. He looked upset going down the tunnel and I guess it was that frustration knowing he'd have been having a chance for minutes and just kind of throwing it away then.
5 out of 5. Would watch again.
Thought the ref was awful today btw. Let Liverpool repeatedly get away with fouls on us from behind (Fernandes for the second Liverpool goal was the most obvious but there were others) but then he was really weak not to send Bruno off too.
Thinking about this game again and the last minute winner as incredible but for once once we absolutely outplayed those cnuts and deserved it.

Yeah it's just the fa cup and we're still outsiders with City in it, but we will never, ever again, beat Liverpool like that.
We were trash most of the second half but we also got hit with unlucky goals at horrible times and just refused to go away.
Last few minutes and extra time were proper old school United. We're gonna come at you with everything and it's up to you to do something about it.

Just watching MoTD - the first yellow card for Amad. Absolutely ridiculous booking. Amad is saying the free kick is 5 paces backwards where Van Dijk was. MacAllister puts the ball down and just hoofs it at Amad. Then the ball goes back to Van Dijk in the actual place to take the free kick and ref still books poor Amad. Bonkers!

I'm still buzzing! I thought I saw it all of a crazy see-saw game when we played City back in 2009 (the Michael Owen goal), but this was something else. Words can barely describe the rollercoaster of emotions I went through as I watched the game alongside several United fans at the pub, which was mostly occupied by partygoers for St. Patrick's Day and no Liverpool fan to be seen.
So many highs and lows. For so long, it didn't look like United would equalize after halftime until Antony slotted that shot in out of nowhere, really. Kudos to Erik Ten Hag for inserting Amad and Antony as they revitalized our attack when we needed it.
I could have cursed Rashford to no end after he missed the opportunity to win the match at the very end of the 90, but he really made me eat my words when he scored the second equalizer and I'm happy to oblige.
Then Amad scored that goal after he created the 2v1 himself. A bit of a shame that he got sent off (please get rid of that stupid rule), but he has proven people right on the fact that he deserves to have more minutes. His work rate from the moment he came on was just examplary. Other than the goal, I also enjoyed a moment when he rushed from a long way out to cut a Liverpool attack short and then he took the ball in the other direction over quite some distance.
I can tell you that we United fans at the pub made a lot more noise than the partygoers when that ball went in. I even took my shirt off and swivelled it around.
In all, St. Patrick's Day 2024 will go down among my favorite football memories as I can now relish in the INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT level of salt coming out of anyone and anything associated with Liverpool Football Club.
