ETH doesn't give new players or existing players new roles unless he is forced to.

1. Garnacho should have been playing RW long ago when it was clear Antony wasn't cutting it.
2. Kambwala should have been given minutes more minutes early in the season given our fragile CBs
3. Bayindir should have played in the league cup
4. Mount should have played some RW when Rashford was dismal and hurting the team
5. Mount should have played some AM when Bruno started playing poorly
6. Amad should have been playing some LW because Antony sucks

IMO ETH gets stuck in his ways and does not consider alternatives unless injuries force him. He is not a good manager.

ETH OUT!
Rashford only got his chance because of injuries, it happens a lot, it's up to the player to grab the opportunities when they come and I think Kambwala has happily.

So basically you wanted Mount to play despite him being injured virtually all season

You wanted Amad to play on the LW to replace Antony who plays on the RW despite him also being injured for a long time

And the 7th choice teenage CB should have been given minutes early in the season because because it was obvious he would be needed later on

You know what, I enjoyed that second half.

Yes, it was chaotic. Yes, we are seemingly the stupidest team in the league but at least its entertaining.

Felt like we were sleepwalking to the end of the season two years ago. This feels different.

The players (for all their faults) genuinely seem like they care and are fighting for everything. The manager (again, for all his faults) has given us three, maybe four young players that we can build an identity around going forward. We started yesterday with three players from essentially the same Youth Team age group. That's almost unheard of in the modern era.

Kwabwala is 19 and there's always at least been 1 or 2 more senior players available the defence.

Mount has been injured pretty much most of the season.

Amad has been out injured as well.

So he should have played 2 injured players and a kid more.

Spot on.

I get the frustration towards Ten Hag but some of the criticism is based on perception rather than fact.

It might not feel like it now but we're in a much better position on and off the pitch than we were two years ago when he took over.

In April/May 2022, it felt like the whole club needed to be destroyed before being completely rebuilt from the ground up.

At least now, the issues are obvious but easier to focus on.

Same thoughts. Klopp’s face after Mainoo’s strike was a highlight of the year. Bruno’s hit was stellar, too. These are the great years, folks. The years when we followed without success. The years of likeable players like the above two and Maguire and Dalot and so much great youth coming through. No oil takeover; INEOS seem to know what they are about. Give ETH a chance. Improve the squad. Solve the injury situation. Trolls and moaners on ignore and on we go. Come on, United.
I’m in agreement. Also who would ETH be replaced by when the summer will see vacancies at Liverpool, Bayern, Barcelona?
Injuries especially to the defence have decimated any chance of progress this season. I’m willing to be patient a while longer.

How are we in a much better position on the pitch? If anything we have lumbered ourselves woth yet more expensive signings who arent good enough but will be difficult to shift

Yep, the main issue is only the manager now.

We'll be frustrated about AWB's penalty but it could've been 0-3 at HT. Good result all in all.

Could that mistake that led to Bruno’s goal be as vital as the Gerrard slip? In terms of costing them the league. I mean they could still win it but if they lose it by a point or 2 then this will be the reason why.

So? He was still between Bruno and the goal. Which means a big part of the net was covered (well, roughly the right half of it anyway, when you see it from the Stretford end angle). Kelleher was actually quite close to catching it. But he would have been sent off if he had, being outside the box.
The keeper was at least 20 yards beyond the box and at least 15 yards in front of Bruno and was in no position to make a save on the ball, and had the keeper made the save with his hands he would have been sent off with a straight red. None of this is to deny that Bruno brilliantly hit the open net, which a lesser player such as Lindelof or Maguire would have missed, but it was without question an open net goal and not a goal that the keeper, by virtue of the keeper being 30-40 yards away from the goal, was in any kind of position to save.

I think he did; I was watching on TV. It must have been an amazing atmosphere in the ground. How did you feel the vibe was among supporters post-match?
It was fairly calm. I think the pen knocked us back a bit.

Much better second half. Mainoo is magic... can't wait to watch him boss the United midfield for the next 10+ years.

Kambwala did really well against a tough opponent!

I think I saw 26th different back 4.... unreal that we have dealt with so much this season.

Took points off those feckers! BYE BYE KLOPP!

He didn't have to make that tackle, the player was going nowhere.
Poor decision on his part, he's always diving in like that, this time it cost us two points.
Average player, should be gone in the summer.

Do we have to get into elementary physics here? When the keeper is standing between you and the goal, it's not an open goal, irrespective of how far from the goal or from the shooter the keeper is. To score, he had to hit the part of the goal the keeper did not cover, which was a good deal of it, but not all of it. Which I think exhausts the topic.

NBC commentary team said it was the 26th different back 4 combination in the PL and the 12th different CB pairing

It could be a key moment, especially as they were in command of the game and would have been clear at the top and in control of their own destiny but nothing really compares to Stevie G after his huddle with his teammates and actually saying this does not slip, comedy gold .

Good excuse to relive the moment of magic.

Heard the other night that Gabriel and Saliba were playing together for the 29th time in succession! That’s got to make a difference

Of course it makes a difference but it still doesn't excuse some of the shambolic stuff that's been going on

Fine, it was a strike like no other...but it was into an open net.

Boy you got me. Mount wasn't injured for many matches and we saw Bruno play worse and worse. But no one, no one takes Bruno's place according to ETH.
Typo buddy, I'm sure you know I meant Amad on the RW

We might be in a better place, but we still pretty much suck on the pitch and are not close to competing for a big title. I think Ole would have done better.

"Good result in all" sums up just how poor we are. There was a time when a draw at home was deemed unacceptable, when losing at home was considered an absolute sin, but now it seems if we manage not to get stuffed at home its seen as a "good performance" Liverpool are not as great as theyd like to think but they manage to be consistent and have plenty of shots on goal, and they tend to score a lot of them. They should gave been home and dry at half time with a 3-0 lead but instead allowed us to get back into the game, which we did brilliantly it must be said, but when Liverpool got their second wind with 20 minutes to go the writing was on the wall as we gradually retreated further and further back. City would have ripped us apart and if they had taken the chances Liverpool spurned could have declared at half time and they must be odds on now to complete the Treble again, and the only team with any chance of stopping that is Real Madrid. Im not even sure we'll beat Coventry and 6th is about the best we can hope for in the Prem, if we're lucky. Im not being defeatist, just realistic.

Yeah we are not a particularly good team. Has this just dawned on you?

A draw was a good result because Liverpool are a lot better than us.

It's Arsenal and they are famous for choking.

The title is still pretty much City's.

Klopp is bad at tactics and him quitting the job is putting tremendous pressure on his players. Poor psychological move.
Surely the Arsenal won't let it slip again. I'm betting on them this year. They have a tough run of fixtures but I believe they can take it.

Yes to some of this. Not sure about the Mount stuff, he has been injured 95% of the season so wasn't around for your experiments.

Arsenal doesn't even have a top class striker and most of their goals are achieved only through a goal mount scramble for the ball.

City still has the most competent and their players seldom choke or make mistakes. It's as though they are supposed to win.

Liverpool missed out on several points. And should have ran away with the title but choked earlier while Arsenal usually choked later.

Even though it's a 3 horse race for the title, the eventual winner should be described as a lucky champ since they will potentially only get 88 points which is not very high.
