Atalanta are one of the few teams I've seen this season who've matched Liverpool for physicality - height, speed and willingness to run all over the pitch.

Do Olympiacos and Fenerbahce have a rivalry? And/or is there just a rivalry between Greek and Turkish teams in general?
It's just the Greece/Turkey thing. I haven't read anything about a more extensive rivalry between the 2 clubs.

Could do with subbing Tsimikas off. Having a stinker. Jones is struggling with the physicality of Atalanta as well.

Liverpool look absolutely terrible, like they thought they could win by just showing up. Atalanta could be up 3-0.

Anfield is like a library bar the away fans.
It always is, they sing their little song at the start of the match and then silent for rest of the match. Will never understand the "best fans in the world" myth. They couldn't be further from that.

Atalanta's strategy of treating the ball like a hot potato without even having any pace on the counter working surprisingly well so far.

Perhaps he should revert to the old crossball in the second half.

Feck me, that Fulham episode with Moyes was really embarrassing.
That would require them to actually get the ball so far up front. But they rarely even get in Bayer's half.

Leverkusen keep the ball very well. They look a very good side, can see why Alonso is tempted to stay at least another year. Although I obviously want Liverpool out of the competition a game between those 2 could be awesome.

Not often I've seen Klopp make three half time subs. Harsh on Elliott.

Moyesball
Despite all that, West Ham had one or two of the most dangerous attacks, the very few times where they managed to find a counter. That's also part of what I meant by Pep team vs minnows, while one team has the ball all the time and is contantly passing and trying to create openings, the total control is illusory. Maybe Leverkusen manage to wear West Ham's defense out and capitalize on a lapse of concentration, but if West Ham scores from a counter first, it will be very hard for them.
