Actually the shahed drones are pretty cheap and are probably their to try and overwhelm the iron dome and air defence systems for the coming missile attacks...

Is it though? The US and Israel are pretty much extensions of one another. Gaza is as much their genocide as it is the Israelis, and they will consider this Iranian retaliation as an attack on them as much as it is one on Israel.

You can be virtually certain the US will have been briefed about this retaliation. Iran won't want to spook them into responding.

I don't know anything about geo-political-economy and the likes,
but don't Iran make a shit-tones of money- probably tens of millions of dollars a day- from selling oil barrels to China?
I would guess they will have enough money directed to their military projects, while their economy is in the tatters and their citizens are poor as feck.

Like October 7th, the US, UK and others start the clock at the convenient time of their choosing. In this instance this all 'began' with Iran launching an 'unprovoked' attack on Israeli soil.
The usual media and diplomatic lackies will lap it up and propagate it as yet another example of unprovoked Iranian aggression, and we'll see a ramped up narrative honing in on stopping Iran, all the while conveniently forgetting or sidelining the US sponsored Israeli crimes in Gaza.
This was the Israeli plan all along and it feels like the Iranians walked straight into the trap.
