If I had a sniff at being the manager of that team, I'd make 3 changes immediately at halftime.

OUT: Eriksen (no room for players with no legs), Antony (get fecked!) and Wan-Bissaka (no place for stupid players).
IN: Mount, Amad and Amass (so we can put Dalot at RB).

We literally have higher xG everywhere you look, should have been 3:1 or something. The irony about me being deluded is amazing though.
Where do people check xG, is there a twitter account that posts it or something?

I’ve been a United fan for nearly 14 years, and arguably the midfield has never been strong during my period I’ve been a fan.
Yes it’s been a long time since we’ve really had a top top midfield. I hope they make it the top priority in the summer, teams seem to walk through us.

    Onana 8, Harry M 7, Casemiro 6, AWB (Positional desaster as usual) 4, Dalot 5, Mainoo 6, Eriksen 7, Bruno 7, Garnacho 3, Anthony 5, Højlund 4

Good start. Garnacho is really irritating to watch right now. Anthony as well. Højlund is getting absolutely nothing to work with. AWB is running around like a headless chicken at times. Onana has been really good. The cbs are doing good as well. Eriksen much stronger than lately. Probably beginning to find some rhythm.

Our midfield hasn’t been addressed for 11 years. Look at Real Madrid and Liverpool last summer. Treat midfield as a priority and build around it, for some reason we never seem to do this.
Yep. Last quality pure midfielder was Carrick.

If we blow City away with a 10 minute spell and a Bruno hat trick, that's probably the cup sorted. Probably.
As if! Bloody Coventry overturned a 3 goal deficit in 20 mins, City would easily do that in 80! We'd get beat 6-3 again probably!!

Onana made 5 saves, two were class and kept us in the game.
Amad for Anthony early please. Mount for Erikson on 60mins.

ETH subs at or after 80 mins.

For a system that depends so much on the end product of the wide forwards, we can't afford Garnacho and Antony to both be so lacking.

'Play AWB at right back and put Dalot at left back'.

Arguably our best player all year and one of our only players that can control a pass and bring out of it defence completely neutered and ineffective because of this.

Why amass? He’s never played for us. Agree maybe giving him his debut but at half time? I can’t see ETH chucking him in like that while at 0-0

Mainoo has been pretty bad that half, caught on the ball multiple times, has been playing in patches since the internationals, Ten Hag is asking too much from him physically at this stage of his development.

Mount needs mins, looked decent before his most recent injury.
The problem is he is having to play at least 2 positions by himself.

Bruno doesn't really do much in terms of breaking up play, thats Ok because his job is further up the pitch.
But if you then hav eeriksen in there too, who simply cannot run any more, then the midfield is basically non existant.

Eriksen shouldn't be on the pitch.

Get Mount on for Eriksen please, it’s like playing with 10 men. Unfortunately not much we can about AWB as he’s about as useful as Eriksen.

Unless you have a better idea at solving our Wan-Bissaka conundrum, it is what it is. Burnley will keep on attacking on that side and then target Casemiro for obvious reasons because Wan-Bissaka just sucks.

Wait.... What would he be doing differently on the right?

Good contest between two evenly matched sides. The better coached side slightly better on balance. But the billion pound squad is in the game .

PS: Two of our forwards who are on loan have scored for their teams, while our 80m man & 64m hope stink up the place. Couldn't make it up.

And they’ll do the same if Amass comes on, maybe even more so. Don’t get me wrong it would be exciting to see him come on and he looks class, it just won’t do him good if he struggles. It’s a big risk at 0-0. Maybe if we get a couple goals then it’d be a better choice.

You could argue they spent big on Pogba and he was supposed to be that guy but one midfielder isn’t going to cut it. We literally need a whole new one and have done for years.
Yes, its easy to forget pogba because he was so inconsistent. On his day he was a top midfielder

0.94 vs 0.84 to us, looks like my source was incorrect. Still, doesn’t equate to being scoring 3 goals in that first 25 mins.

Who the feck cares about Sancho and what he does with dortmund. Dude has shown he clearly doesn't have the desire to fight for anything here and is mentally too weak for this league.

Antony off Amad on.. Eriksen off Mctom on.. at least that.. Hojlund is he on the pitch? .. fecking Burnley ffs running us ragged .. .. Still enough quality on that pitch to be better than they are..

Give us a link to the figures then.

If it is higher I can't imagine it's by much, if true, with their 5 shots on target to our 2 and the saves Onana made.

The fact is they've troubled our keeper a lot more than we have theirs.

He had so much space to run into our area there unchallenged. Our tactics are unforgivable.
