I think your list is a lot more realistic than the BBC one.

Other clubs will know we are desperate and our wages are too high.

If we could get anything like 75% of our money back on any of Ten Hag's signings I'd sell.

30 million for AwB is probably a bit unrealistic. Same with Maguire although he has had a pretty good season after two nightmare years. I'd add another few million on McTominay as a team like West Ham or Everton could probably get a decent goal return from him.

The wage bill is interesting as you'd think it's almost certain that Varane, Martial, Casemiro and Eriksen are leaving.

That article is a bit bizarre. We'd sell Mainoo for less than Antony, Dalot and.. McTominay??

First Team
Mainoo £120m
Garnacho £90m
Rashford £50m
These ones interest me the most.

Mainoo £120m (I don’t think we’ll entertain selling) but surely a world record fee for the PL would do it?

Garnacho at £90m do you not think that’s a bit too sharp?

Rashford £50m I think his wages pull his value down the most. Commercially he’s very marketable.

Yeah I think while they may be worth that in terms of relative value quality wise. The contracts they are on kill the sale price.

Yeah in hindsight I’d be inclined to agree maybe £20m for AWB?

Maguire I think should be £30m or close to that. High 20s at least.

I think the wage bill being lightened will be a huge bonus.
That article is a bit bizarre. We'd sell Mainoo for less than Antony, Dalot and.. McTominay??
Yeah I think CIES do it based on minutes etc too. Mainoo is never going to be solid unless it’s an extortionate fee.

I think that's a fair assessment of what we should demand from out players, although I think a couple of them might be a bit underpriced. I would add another 10 on Høylund and Rashford, and 30 for Shaw feels a bit cheap as well. Ok, he is injury prone and that surely reduces his value, but still. At least, I wouldn't sell him for 30m. And if Sancho in the rest of the season shows anything close to what he did last night, I think his stocks will be worth more than 30. Maybe the double, even.

Regards Mainoo, I just dont think we can sell at all. Youve seen what 100m plus got chelsea in midfield, caceido and fernandez. no guarantee whatsoever, whereas at the moment he looks like he could develop into a decade + worth of midfielder to build around. a no go for me. similar reasoning for garnacho, we forget how young he is. to me he's already better than some highly priced wingers such as leao

The only hesitation on Rashford is his wages.

Shaw is a £50m player but only available less than 50% of the time which needs to be reflected. Personally I hope he gets turned into a ball playing CB to elongate his career.

Im not sure any club would fork out for Sancho at £60m.

Probably agree actually. Given the context of Chelsea.

Garnacho looks like a future mover abroad at some time.
Ok.

Those prices are way off for a some of the players. Shaw and Martinez are injury prone so priced a bit too high. From McTom and up way overvalued, imo

The Transfermarkt values also listed in that article are far more realistic and in most cases are less than 50% of those quoted by CIES. They estimate 50M tops for Rashford for example which sounds about right and it is quite possible we would do business for less than that considering how much we would shave off the wage bill by letting him go. Antony at the extreme was never truly valued above 25M even at his Ajax peak and now he has had two seasons of mostly awful performances to go with some unresolved off field issues it is fanciful to think he would fetch any sort of fee at all. He will be loaned until his contract expires as we are currently seeing with Donny.

One thing worth considering is there is a 25% wage drop across the board due to failure to achieve CL. Might be easier to shift some players.

There's a few like Kobbie, Garnacho etc who i'd say are priceless, the vast majority I wouldn't let go for less than 50p and a bag of Revels. And I REALLY like Revels.

In fact speaking of which I remember hearing our performances recently described as a bag of Revels since "you don't what you'll get". I'd argue that our performances this season have been more akin to those Harry Potter Every Flavour Beans, except where all the best flavours have been eaten and you're left with earthworm, dirt, bogies and arse flavours.

On a more serious note, it's depressing looking at how undervalued our players are given how much we massively overpaid for them.

Onana - not for sale but would accept £60m+
Bayindir £10m
Dalot - not for sale but would accept £50m+
AWB - for sale £25m plus 10m add-ons
Varane - release
Martinez - not for sale
Maguire - for sale at £25m plus 5m add-ons
Lindelöf - not for sale but would take £20m+
Evans - 1 year deal, do coaching badges
Kwambala - not for sale, may loan
Shaw - not for sale but would accept 45m+
Malacia - for sale at 15m plus 5-7m add-ons
Casemiro - for sale - Saudi £30m, or 20+5m
McTominay - for sale £35+5m
Eriksen - for sale £5m+5m
Mainoo - Not for sale
Fernandes - Not for sale but would accept £80m+
Mount - Not for sale but would accept £70m+
Garnacho - Not for sale but would accept 100m
Antony - Not for sale but would accept £45+10m
Rashford - Not for sale but would accept £75+10m
Amad - For sale at £20m+10m
Højlund - Not for sale
Martial - release

Loaned out:
Sancho - For sale at £40m+15m
Greenwood - For sale £25m+15m
Hannibal - For sale £12m+5m
Pellistri - for sale £12m+5m
Carreras £5m+5m
Van de Beek - release
Williams - for sale £2m+3m

On most deals I would include substantial add-ons, as illustrated. And in some I would include buy back clauses. Like Hannibal, Amad, maybe Greenwood.

Some players aren’t worth selling because of the FFP position, like Mount, Onana etc., unless it is for a really big fee. I also think, despite their troubles, it’s worth giving them another season.

Bruno and Martinez are two of avoid selling in general because they are virtually our only two players who actually have grit, determination, and that fire in their belly. But someone like Bruno, at 29/30, if Saudi came in with an 85-90m pound bid, it’d probably be wise to take it. Otherwise, he should stay.

Shaw is a tough one. He’s not fit enough, but he’d cost a fortune to replace with a good enough player. So id keep him but find a good player who can rotate with him.

Lindelof I’d keep because we’d move on Varane, and Maguire. And need two CBs already. He’s on relatively low wages and is fine as a fourth choice cb. Evan’s I’d keep too, because he’d count towards homegrown quota and would cost peanuts. Good emergency stop gap.

Mainoo, Bruno, and Mount would all stay, but we’d need two CMs. With Eriksen, Casemiro and McTominay moving on. Hopefully a Neves plus a young DM.

I’d likely keep Rashford, Garnacho, Højlund and Antony, and add a good competition for CF (Osimhen, Sesko etc), plus a starting quality RW like Olise. Sancho, Greenwood, and Amad out the door. I’d keep Amad if we got a decent offer for Antony like 45m plus 10-15m in add-ons.

I’d want the next manager to get a lot more out of the players we have, rather than just replacing them all.

That said, only Mainoo, Garnacho, Martinez, Bruno, and Højlund are players I would sell VERY reluctantly or not at all. The rest all have their price and could be moved on and replaced. It’s all just about who has the best market for their services. Very few are what I would consider “safe”.

I’d agree the likes of Kobbie and Garnacho are close to unsellable (and I can’t see who’d be interested for the fee we’d demand).

Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Teams = United

I think the fees (at least the ones I’ve suggested) take into account contracts, age and performance. We rarely make a profit on a player but that’s not what our club is made for.
I'm not sure about the rest of the squad but I'll start with Martial for a packet of Walkers Cheese and Onion crisps.
The packet is slightly opened and a few crisps are missing deal?

I like how you listed who is “not for sale” it’s a sensible addition to this of players that you’re not as open to offers on.

Onana £40m - I think we paid slightly above market rate for an ok keeper
Bayindir £5m - I have absolutely no idea how good he is because Ten Hag only gave him one start (I think)
Dalot £60m - need to be a ridiculous offer for me to consider selling
AWB £10m - one year left on his contract
Varane (Free)
Martinez £35m - his lack of height and average speed is an issue for me, despite his outstanding quality on the ball
Maguire £15m - lack of pace has always been a huge weakness. I'd rather defend high up the pitch so I'd take whatever was offered despite his impressive performances this season.
Lindelöf £10m - not bothered whether we keep or sell. May depend on what he wants to do.
Evans (Free)
Kwambala £20m - don't like selling young players on the cheap
Shaw £30m
Malacia £10m - seemed like a decent back-up last season but a whole season out injured is worrying.
Casemiro £20m - I'd accept less.
McTominay £55m - keep unless receive ridiculous offer
Eriksen £0 - in reality his wages will be an issue so I'd let him go for nothing
Mainoo £100m - in reality not for sale
Fernandes £70m
Mount £40m - prefer the cash unless we find a starting role for him that he can perform at a decent level (not no 8)
Garnacho £100m - in reality not for sale
Antony £10m - finding it hard to stomach the idea that he might get a 3rd season at United. Get rid.
Rashford £50m - on one level I think he wants to be a United player but at the same time part of him isn't sufficiently motivated to make an effort
Amad £20m - reluctant to sell without giving him a reasonable chance
Højlund £80m - despite underwhelming first season, I think he should be ok eventually so would be reluctant to sell
Martial (Free)

Loaned out:
Sancho £20m - disgraceful attitude. Get rid
Greenwood £15m - hope for more but have to sell this summer even if price is very low. If only offer is £1, I'd take that.
Hannibal £15m - would like to keep if he agrees new contract. If not, then I suppose have to sell for a relatively low fee (less than £15m, perhaps £8m to £10m).
Pellistri £20m - still think he is worth persisting with.
Carreras £5m
Van de Beek £0
Williams (Free) - out of contract I think

For me

First Team
Onana £50m - happy to give him another season, but would break even on him
Bayindir £5m - can't imagine there's a big market
Dalot £60m - still my POTY
AWB £25m with some add ons
Varane (Free) - purely for his wages, if were we in a better position squad wise id keep
Martinez £50m - love him, but his height causes issues for us enemy squad building, so would take a good fee for him
Maguire £25m - time to move on
Lindelöf £15m
Evans (retire)
Kwambala £20m - buy back and % of profit
Shaw £50m - always forget he's only 28 still
Malacia £15m - gutted about this one but can't have crocks
Casemiro £20m
McTominay £30m
Eriksen - (free)
Mainoo £150m
Fernandes £80m
Mount £70m
Garnacho £80m
Antony £25m
Rashford £40m
Amad £20m - significant add ons as I think he'll perform, up to £40m somewhere else.
Højlund £70m
Martial (Free)

Loaned out:
Sancho £30m - again performance based add ons up to £50m
Greenwood £25m - significant performance based add ons up to 60m as he was that before he was a cnut.
Hannibal £5m
Pellistri £10m - Has done well in la Liga
Carreras £5m - already agreed
Van de Beek (Free)
Williams - anything above free that will contribute to ffp

Every player in the squad should be made to create a Michael Owen style brochure, advertising themselves, their skills, good looks, shoe size etc. that would add value.

A few that stand out for me here:

Martinez £35m seems low
Kwambala £20m seems higher

Sancho and Greenwood fees seem low too.

This same thread was only a few weeks ago, ffs.

That article though, what a load of bollocks. :houllier:

The team is close to unsellable. AWB, Casemiro, Varane, Eriksen, Evans all fetch close to nothing considering their wages or quality. Even Mainoo and Garnacho won’t get close to what we think they would, they’re 19 and could being nowhere near the level needed for a top team. Jury is massively out on Hojlund too.

I’d pay Wan Bissaka to leave the club.

I’d add a bonus if he could take Antony and Onana with him

There's quite a few players I'd give away for no transfer fee, if it meant getting them off the wage list.

Good resolve to win it there but Chelsea are so panicky.
He’s 42.
