Garnacho to Rotate with Mount.

really think this would work under Tuchel.
Three players capable of scoring a goal. Dalot and Shaw are barely good enough going forwards for us in a back four, let alone as wing backs.

Don’t want Tuchel. Don't think he’s capable of playing a set style and creating a positive environment.

I will be jealous of man utd if manutd appoint tuchel as coach. Best coach for me in the world and gundogan vouched for that. He said tactically best coach he played under and he played under him,pep and klopp.
Wouldn't worry because can see us sticking with Erik, there just isn't enough noise about him leaving and that interview with Neville. You don't often see those given and the manager then ends up being sacked.

We have a difficult run in, a resurgent Palace, Newcastle with a point to prove also knowing they could dump us out of Europe altogether, Arsenal chasing the league and City in the final. If he continues what he is doing, playing openly and not taking good care of the ball we could be in for some serious pastings that could turn the atmosphere around the club too toxic to keep him.

We all know and need to just accept that he will. The man said we play the most dynamic and entertaining football in the league

Yeah we have a whole season of disastrous performances and humiliations to go on, he won't change anything in the last 5 games. I think he is done here because, even if he's survived thus far, we have a potentially nasty ending to the season and that will linger on whilst the fan base stews on it.

He is done here, no way we make ambitious moves on the structure and CEO and then look to keep on a struggling manager around. It won't be Tuchel, I suspect, but a creative and left field solution that will shock and excite us.

Genuinely interested - for you who want Tuchel: Do you think he is a good choice long term? Do you see him as interim for a season or two? Or do you only care about results next year?

I do see him as maybe the best option to get results out of a squad that likely will change a lot due to INEOS taking over and implementing a new approach to squad building, as he is quite flexible in his tactical approach. And getting results immediately matters as good CL income for example will make more money available for transfers.

I guess I don't care much about how long he would work well. During his career he mostly had fallouts with boards making stupid decisions or demands and he doesn't swallow this kind of thing.

If Woodward had signed him I guess he might have quit before managing his first match due to how transfer summers went, but under the new (still incomplete) structure it might work a lot better.

I don't think Tuchel is s long term solution, unlikely anyway. But... with the new structure in place, the squad building will not fall on him, but on Ashworth and Wilcox. Considering the options we have, Tuchel is the candidate with availability and the best cv.
My actual preferred candidate was Nagelsmann. Had we been decisive and sounded him out earlier, we might have been able to get him. But the ship has sailed.

If Tuchel doesn't deliver, we will move on to other coaches. Like what we should have done with Ten Hag months ago.

Ye except they played Augsburg at home. Bayern played 3rd placed stuttgart away.
....and scored 5 goals, which United haven´t done all season. Okay once if you include the penalty shootout against Coventry. :p

it’s mad that Tuchel is a few years younger than Ten Hag and already spoken of as a busted flush, even if not considered a long term solution he’s certainly a different level of coach to Ten Hag

Personally think he has the flexibility to do well,INEOS would just leave him to get on with the coaching whilst they sort out recruitment

Thank you. I also think he is very, very good tactically. My reservation isn’t his falling out with the club, but rather his demeanor and man management. Granted, it’s based mostly on his time at Chelsea and my impression from interviews, but I see a man without the ability to empathize and mentalize. If a player goes through a difficult period, I don’t think Tuchel will show any type of understanding. He also seems like the type of person who doesn’t see his own flaws.
I might very well be wrong, but if I’m not he’s not gonna be successful more than a season or two anywhere.

He didn't like getting the responsibility for recruitment under Boehly, so I don't know how true that is.
He didn't like Boehly interfering and he didn't like Boehlys shit ideas.

As long as we have a functioning structure that targets the profile of player he'd want, he'd be happy. He isn't a manager that wants total control.

Hes an explosive character and doesn't just clash on transfers. Hes fallen out with the higher ups literally everywhere and lasted 2-3 years

Yeah completely agree with this, only person above Nagelsmann on list was Alonso but he committed to Leverkusen unfortunately so switched targets

I reckon a lot of those saying “don’t want” would be downbeat if one of Liverpool/Chelsea(again)/Newcastle got him.

Because I personally would fancy them to be in the title picture with him leading the team

If they got a Potter, Southgate or De Zerbi I’d have been laughing and wouldn’t expect them to be much threat to the title picture

Take it you are gonna throw out he doesn't play youth players just to firm up the point about unsuitability

Ten Hag seems to be quite terrible at man management as well

No, he's just not suited to us. He's a flexible coach tactically but I feel he's most comfortable and consistent with 5 at the back, which also doesn't suit us. I found him at Chelsea very boring to watch too.

Hes not a bad manager by any stretch, and he's obviously more suited to us than Jose was or say Conte. But I think he wouldn't last long with owners who are hands on.

I really don't understand this. How can we actually know if a manager is suited or suited for us when our playing roster consists of players from 4 different managers of varying tactics and playstyles and nobody has any idea what direction the new club structure will choose to take.

Because he falls out with owners, our owners want to be hands on, and they will also dictate a style for him to play and control recruitment. Tuchel is opinionated, and not easy to deal with based on his record but for me its also that I found his football dead boring at Chelsea. He wouldn't be allowed to play that system at United under INEOS

I don’t think there’s any doubt that he’s a good tactician. But his man management and overall demeanor just leave a lot to be desired. If the reports are real, United can’t give him any more than a 2-yr deal. He seems to always burn out wherever he is within that time. He hasn’t been anywhere more than 2 years since he was at Mainz.

I highly doubt thats the end state of Ten Hag's coaching
It's actually more in line with his Ajax style then people think. Sadly it just doesn't match with the Premier League. I actually think it suits the Buli quite well.

There are some similarities but its the wrong players first and foremost.

Which is my main issue with him. He is insisting on a style that simply doesn't suit our players.
Think he addressed bits of why in his interview with Neville. It might cause him being sacked in the end.

Our owners want to be “hands on” yet have set about hiring best in class football executives to run the club. It’s sort of a bizarre comment. Tuchel has played a 3-4-3, a 4-2-3-1, a 4-1-4-1 at Dortmund… he’s a pragmatist, better yet, a pragmatist that wins and is excellent in knock out tournaments. And, he’s familiar and comfortable working in high pressure environments like PSG and Bayern.

If anything, his experience at Chelsea and having to deal with Boehly when he clearly didn’t want to be involved in transfers would actually fit our structure quite well.

Does it matter? You hire the best manager on the market and then you reflect on that position every summer depending on how the current manager did.

I should reframe, they are delegating their best in class staff to be hands on, and it's reported that we'll want more of a head coach rather than a manager because of it.

He won't be able to play a 3/5 at the back at the system at United, because it doesn't really suit what our club has historically been about and I'd imagine Wilcox / Ashworth want to maintain that.
I disagree he's comfortable in high pressured jobs, having fallen out with Leonardo and PSG higher ups during his time there, fallen out with Chelsea (I'll give this as a freebie though because Boehly is a clown) and being sacked at Bayern after a frankly torrid time in all aspects outside of this current CLrun.
If anything, his experience at Chelsea and having to deal with Boehly when he clearly didn’t want to be involved in transfers would actually fit our structure quite well.
The frustration w/Boehly wasn't just to do with transfers. Boehly had some clown ideas for the club which would rub any manager the wrong way.

Chelsea was the only club in his career where he preferred a back five. No idea why you think that he generally is most comfortable using that.

Because that's the only success story he has in a big league. He effectively bombed just now with Bayern too.

Agree with this, football has changed it's more about 2-3 years of a manager then change.

It's rare to get a manager who delivers success long-term. Chelsea under abramovich were successful with managers changing ever few seasons. Madrid, Bayern, Barcelona, Juventus etc all follow the same model. Manger concentrates on first team, others handle the rest. INEOS seem to be going in this direction and it's worth a go.

If Ten Haag does get sacked we are stuck with some very average signings he insisted on even though recruitment team had strong reservations i.e. Anthony etc.

Tuchel in for 2-3 years, I'm all for. He has the the medals he needs to control the changing room
