Atrocious.

And the sad part is I fully expected it. Couldn't see anything but a poor performance and defeat. They managed to do even worse than I expected with a 4-0 loss, but absolutely nothing like the surprise of the Brentford defeat. With all the injuries and shit form, I was fully prepared for something like this. :(

Going to finish the season with five straight defeats and when losing 4-0 to Palace what will the margin be against Arsenal next and Man City in the FA Cup final?

I don’t feel this way. If he gets the sack it will be after the FA cup
Of course he’s getting sacked, there’s zero chance he is here next season. He was a shoe in to last until the end of the season but he is now so stubborn and inept he may as well go now and INEOS may be forced to even sack him before the next game.

Not to mention the 60 mill keeper might be a dud too.
Forgot to mention him. He might be good in a team like City that keeps the ball forever but when his passing/kicking isn't good what else is there to his game that inspires confidence? I feel for him as he's facing about 9 billion shots at his goal all this season but ...he doesn't look a particularly good goalkeeper at times.

Appalling. Furious. An utterly disgraceful performance.

So much money squandered on players that are a steaming pile of utter dogs muck. And a manager that couldn't find his own arse in the dark without using both hands and a torch

Absolutely embarrasing from us tonight, every single player on that pitch should be ashamed after that.

I think Casemiro put in the worst performance ive ever seen from a Man Utd player, unbelievable that a player on 350k per week can put in that kind of performance.

After 4-0 tonight I recon Arsenal will beat us by 6 at least on Sunday.

Every one of those players needs to hang their head after tonight. If I was them I'd be trying three times as hard in training to put this shit right because Manchester United fans deserve better than the shit they are being served weekly by these absolute pretenders.

That's the dangerous part in all of this.
They probably don't have a higher level/gear. What you saw today is their level

We lumbered against the bottom of the league team (I can't even remember who it was).
The 2nd from bottom team was a draw.
And we got walloped by the first team we met that isn't in the relegation zone or in the Championship.
Even allowing for injuries, to lose 4-0 is unbelievable.
The blame for how we've got here belongs at the feet of several people, including the manager.

But right now, the players we can put out are at the level of a mid table club. Add to that the terrible morale around the club and results like tonight shouldn't surprise anyone.

Somehow both worse than expected and just as expected at the same time.

On to Arsenal then…

I've just watched the most interesting post match discussion that I have seen.

Michael Owen (I know) and Paul Scholes.

Scholes said that there is clearly no coaching of the team and he that Steve McClaren is the best coach he ever had. They both agreed said that the team clearly has zero input from McClaren as he would never have a team set-up as we do nowadays.

They were both really positive on McClaren.

Owen was sack ETH tonight and get McClaren in for the remaining games. Scholes even said we have decent players it's the lack of coaching that is the problem.

Just…beyond dreadful. End the season already. Arsenal and City will annihilate us.
It is shocking that some people genuinely believe that we will beat Arsenal.
Thankfully the delusion does not extend to beating MCFC, though I am sure before the cup final, some of these people will crawl out of the woodwork.

The team needs open heart surgery (as was originally said by Ralf R).

Undoubtably the worst performance I've ever seen from a utd team and I've watched them since the early 60's. Never seen a goalkeeper that bad either.
I have followed them since 64. And I can't remember a team so devoid of football talent. The relegated team from 74 had more talent and passion.

Horrific. Everyone knows the manager is a problem but when you have players that can't run against any half decent physical side then you're going to struggle. Think we've seen the last season of Casemiro, Eriksen and probably Evans (not criticizing him, he's just getting on).

Add to this Mainoo who is a fantastic talent but needs energetic players around him to help his game. As someone said, a few months in the gym might help him a lot.

Dalot was terrible, AwB has just no awareness of what's around him at all. Hojlund's hold up play was non-existent, Antony was as bad as anything Rashford has served up this season. Horrendous all around.
Agree with all of that.

just to add re Dalot. He looked mentally destroyed. A couple of times camera was on him and he just looked like he wanted the ground to swallow him up. He didn’t appear to want to be there.

And AWB. Less said the better. But he was so unbelievably awkward on the left. Zero technical ability when it comes to his left side and it’s so obvious what he wants to do every time he gets the ball

Not gonna say much on the actual game cause it's just standard now and is the harsh reality of what this current United side are.

I think it's quite obvious, we're just going through the motions with this team/manager. There's not a lot to look forward to other than maybe one or two players (Mainoo? Garnacho?), the rest you can make a legitimate case to sell them.

There's no chance creation, the front 3 look dysfunctional, there's no game plan that we can identify, there's no set style of play which I can get behind, we play in moments and bar that, it's a real chore to watch us.

When you reach a point with your football club that you feel apathetic and above all else, feel bored watching them , I think it's time to consider drastic personnel changes.

Fair play to that United away end, sang all game and still clapped the players off after a performance like that. Surprised some of them stayed that long.

Appalling! There’s no reason to keep ETH. Things aren’t working and haven’t been for the last couple of months. Have to sack him tonight and get McLaren to do his shit for the final 4 games. Can’t be that bad surely.

Some of the posters on this site need testing for drugs, I mean over a quarter of the ones who forecasted the result put down a Utd win.
Deluded fools.

Holding on to him is making things ten time worse. He cannot come back from this, he should have gone before Christmas.

Crystal Palace manager saying they didn’t even play well first half. Says it all.

Meanwhile I’m sure ETH will talk about injuries and how we were unlucky with the disallowed goal etc.

If we dont replace the manager before it weve probably got no chance of winning.
You can't implement a style of play with our squad. Half the squad is injured, we have players in positions that don't suit them because of it.

Unless a new guy will come in and somehow get our squad fit in time for the final then it's wishful thinking.

The season is a write off.

Seriously the Sky Sports studio sounds quite naive. Ashley Young is a player who has played with us, and come up against United recently, Surely he's aware of our glaring weaknesses?
Was he really expecting something different just because we came out early?

Eriksen, Casemiro, Evans are all retirement candidates, AWB is awkward on the right and that's amplified on the left, I still don't know what Mount is here to do, Antony is a laughably poor player, and since the injury Højlund has been very poor. Crystal Palace actually had better players and are better coached

I agree with everything you’ve said there, but particularly the comments on Casemiro……although AWB ran him close for that particular accolade tonight.

Since Ten Hag arrived he hasnt even tried to implement a style of play, he just seems to send out 11 players and hope for the best.

Ole had most of this squad and managed to get us playing some decent Football with 3rd and 2nd place finishes.

That was rough. I don't think, we were playing too much worse than in other matches but with this defense and midfield, it was always going to be difficult. I guess ETH simply gambled wrong. Iirc he said he didn't want to adjust the system to go more defensive because that also would have changed the rhythm and would required him to swing again once a few players would have come back. He should have changed... Sometimes today, we were trying to attack them quite high on the pitch, with Eriksen in Midfield and Casemiro and Evans in the backline. I mean, it is obvious that that will call for trouble.

We are a championship level side. I have no idea how we are in the top half of the table.

Every week I see us being over-run by teams with better players. Palace are 14th. That was probably their easiest game of the season.
