They allowed the play develop for the Real second goal. Don't see why they wouldn't follow the same protocol for this as well. Bayern might not have scored anyway, but we've seen countless times delayed whistles so it could be reverted to VAR, but that's never going to happen in the last minute of a CL semi final in Madrid with them one goal ahead.
I thought rudiger was offside on Madrid's second but no one has mentioned it, was he onside?

Strange tournament this year. Dortmund is most definitely not one of the two best teams in the cup and were very lucky in the second leg against PSG. But PSG didn't really deserve to go that far either and can thank Araujo for that incredibly stupid red card. Same goes for the other side of the draw. Real was the worse team against City, they made it past Leipzig thanks to a clear refereeing mistake and Bayern is also very underwhelming by their own standards this season. Some of the names in their starting eleven really shouldn't be starting a UCL semifinal (yet). They looked a bit like Madrid looked against City. On the other hand, they were better against Arsenal who seem to be roughly in the same tier as City.

Not so sure about Bayern > Arsenal > Barca. It's close but I think Barca is actually the best out of the three and not as far behind Real Madrid as the league table suggests. They are a good team and have great individuals as well.

If we count "UEFA Champions League" only, so since the revamp, new rules and new name in 92/93, Ancelotti is already more successful than any other team bar Madrid. He's on 4 titles at the moment, with Barca, Bayern and Milan with 3 titles.

Kane asked to be subbed off due to problems with his back. Tuchel was forced to sub off all of his attackers and had no real replacement for them, instead some (Sane, Musiala) had to start despite being not fully fit.

The Bayern chance (and Dortmund reaching the final) controversy reminded me of this old Bernabeu classic from 2002/03 second group stage, second game, when Madrid played a 2-2 draw against Lokomotiv Moscow. two minutes into injury-time, Loko successfully launch a quick counterattack from their own box, but just as the last defender is dribbled past, with cover too far away to avoid a one on one, the ref blows the whistle. Looking at how that group played out, if that chance had been finished it could have changed the outcome of the group as Dortmund ended up only one point behind, with equal goal difference. All other results staying the same, Real would have won the tie-breaker anyway and scraped through, but obviously a 3-2 loss would have changed the dynamic of the group.
