Just a short time until the post season begins with the Houston Astros vs the rightfully hated NY Yankees in the American League Wildcard Playoff game.

The Chicago Cubs visit the Pittsburgh Pirates tomorrow night in the National League game. How will the Cubbies break their fans hearts this year?

In the next round Texas plays Toronto. While the Houston/NY winner plays the KC Royals. In the NL the Mets play the Dodgers with the wild card winner getting the St Louis Cardinals.

So is this finally the year of the Cubs? Will it be a subway series? Yankees back on top? The Cards again?

The Yankees short term future is depressing viewing, such a boring team.

Cashman is incredibly lucky the owners don't really care about winning.

So, the Yankees fail, again.

Because they haven't succeeded .. again, and again....and again....and even more for good bandwagoning measure.

They were barely even favoured to get as far as they did this year, so it's only a failure because of their history rather than what was realistically expected. As scummy as they are. It's like the equivalent of Man Utd losing in the CL semis this year or something.

But back on to it, Cubs nation baby. It's gotta happen hasn't it, BTTF2 and all.

No the wild card game is like being eliminated in the group stages.

Anyone think Harvey will plunk Utley tonight in his zeal to prove he's a team-first guy? Let's go Dodgers! Clap, clap...clap, clap, clap.

So glad that the weird play with the catcher hitting the bat on the throw back to the pitcher. First time I ever saw something like that. Correct call was made. But would have been a shit play to decide the series.

Wonder if the long delay while it was sorted out affected the Rangers concentration a bit?
