Walter Crickmer started it all...
U/18 season kicks off tomorrow with a visit to Derby County.

It's a 12:00 kick-off but there does not seem to be any live feed via MUTV...only highlights on Sunday at 5:30.

Still need a striker, especially as Burkart hasn't got clearance yet. What do you think?

So that is now the thread for all U18's fixtures and results......no new thread for every match???

Derby County match
However wow what a bad start to the season.......but not really a big shock with the sent-off, a look at the defence (Looks like the only real defender had a poor game too) and that some other players have played out of position too :houllier:

Future
Hopefully Ercolani & Barrett are back from their injuries and Dunne is fully-fit for the next match.

If Burkart don't get the international clearance in the next weeks and Diedrick-Roberts isn't in the plans of the coaches (or is he injured too??) then we must bring in another striker........that bollocks with Dearnley or Gomes or Boonen or Buffonge or Chong or Bohui for the next weeks/months will not help us to win matches and the progress of the players..........we have the same shit in the Reserve Team with McTominay, Mitchell and Doughty.

Diederick Roberts is only coming back from injury as well. Even if we brought in another striker they'd have to wait on clearance as well unless they're from an English club

A substandard bag of meat and bones.
Okay if he's injured too.
The situation is still not good.
Rashford wouldn't be in the first team now if he hadn't had to ply up front as we were short of strikers, same with Januzaj. It's sometimes good development to play in different positions and given how Mourinho likes his front 3/4 to interchange it will help them fit into the system too.

Anyone see any of the match yesterday? Would really like to see this bunch kick on and win a few matches this year as it seems a really talented bunch. Perhaps missing some of the imposing centre backs and centre mids that we have had in youth teams past ( the likes of Tuanzebe, Fosu Mensah, CBJ). Not too worried about adding a striker to the group as on paper we have plent of talent going forward, but we could really do with getting some decent centre backs in. Not a big fan of Sang and haven't been overwhelmed with Ercolani yet either (here's hoping they prove me wrong!).

Really think Hamilton and Whelan need to grow up fast this year and become more domineering in the centre of the park. Both have bags of talent but we seem to get overwhelmed in the middle of the field an awful lot when the two play.

Ercolani hasn't played a single minute for the u18s yet, this season or last.

Yeah I saw him play in a couple of youth tournament matches with the club at his age group. He never really impressed but hopefully this season he will settle in and get a few games with the u18s
