It's simple, easy and effortless. Pick your teams before the season starts and come back at the end of the regular season to see if you have won.

How to Play
You select the teams you think will have the best record at the end of the regular season.
You combine the number of wins of the teams you selected to get your Wins Total.
Whoever has the highest Wins Total, Wins the Pool!

A Tie counts as half a Win and is added to the total. A team can only be picked once.

Example:
You picked Ravens and Jets and their standings at the end of regular season are:

Ravens : 13-2-1
Jets : 3-13-0

Then your Wins Total is 13+0.5+3 = 16.5
Tie Breaker
If two players finish with the same Wins Total, the winner will be decided by tiebreaker in the following order:
1. Best combined away record
2. Most combined points scored
3. Least combined points against
4. Coin-toss
Since there are 32 NFL teams, we would ideally need 8 or 16 people to play. Will do a snake draft in the thread itself once we get enough people.

Last year, @backofthenet won comfortably, followed by @Organic Potatoes , @rpitroda and @The Cat

2020 thread: https://www.redcafe.net/threads/2020-nfl-team-wins-pool.457326/

So, who's in?

Count me in. If I enter enough of these things I’ve got to do well in at least one of them.

9 makes it difficult as the snake draft would then have odd number of rounds and it will not be fair to those with later picks. And it's already Monday so no point in waiting for another 7 people. Sorry EAP, looks like we will have to go with the first 8.

With 10 people we can have a modified draft order. The guy who came up with this originally suggested the following:
Team 1: 1st pick, 20th pick, 26th pick
Team 2: 2, 16, 29
Team 3: 3, 13, 30
Team 4: 4, 18, 25
Team 5: 5, 15, 27
Team 6: 6, 19, 22
Team 7: 7, 11, 28
Team 8: 8, 17, 21
Team 9: 9, 14, 23
Team 10: 10, 12, 24
https://www.theringer.com/nfl/2018/9/4/17820232/ringer-nfl-wins-pool

Each player gets 3 picks and this somewhat balances out the unfairness of the snake draft where the players picking towards the end were at a disadvantage. Anyone has a better idea?

Sorry for the delay. I pick Cleveland. Coincidentally also picked them to lose first in the other thread so some odd tactics going on :houllier:

Jeez, probably too late. But the order isn't ideal at all! E.g. Backofthenet has a significant advantage in positions to me.

Anyway, it is what it is, I suppose!
Hey we are in this mess because we are trying to include you and Ayush. 8 or 16 is the prefect number as odd number of draft round never works in Snake drafts.
Saw another method where they improved on this order by using projected win totals and recalculating it but I was not going to do all that.
