Paul McGuinness is taking the Manchester United Under-18 squad to Slovakia during a break in the domestic fixture list.

The youngsters will face Tatran Presov and Dukla Banska Bystrica in friendlies and a 28-man squad has provisionally been named for the trip. On last year's excursion, Gyliano van Velzen scored the only goal against Tatran while Jack Barmby hit a hat-trick in a 4-3 victory over Konoplyov Football Academy.

Summer recruits Sean Goss and Matthew Willock are among those in the party this year - as well as 11 players who were on the 2011 visit, including Mats Daehli, Adnan Januzaj and Kenji Gorre.

James Weir and Liam Grimshaw feature after playing their part in England Under-18s' 2-0 victory against Italy on Wednesday.

United squad: Joel Castro Pereira, Pierluigi Gollini, Kieran O'Hara; Ben Barber, Declan Dalley, Callum Evans, Liam Grimshaw, Nicholas Ioannou, Donald Love, Ryan McConnell, Louis Rowley, Matthew Wilkinson; Mats Daehli, Kenji Gorre, Sean Goss, Joshua Harrop, Andreas Pereira, Adnan Januzaj, Paddy McNair, Ben Pearson, Joe Rothwell, Jack Rudge, James Weir, Matthew Willock; Jack Barmby, Sam Byrne, Ashley Fletcher, James Wilson.
I like this as it means we don't have to wait 2 or 3 weeks until they play again domestically.

The squad is provisional. Were the games from last year's trip aired on MUTV?

Yeah, looks like they've just listed the entire U18 squad for this season, be surprised if all those travel. Had heard that Barber's some way off being fit, for example. Fletcher's an U18 so would be no surprise if he's there. We've taken a few U16s the last couple of tours though so might see that again.

MUTV haven't covered either Slovakia trip so far so wouldn't get your hopes up.

Januzaj actually hasn't played for the U18s this season, instead playing for the U21s, though he's still listed on the U18 page on the main site. I wouldn't be surprised if he's not going to Slovakia.

No highlights for this game at the moment. I did however find the match summary on Tatran Presov's official website. It's google-translated, so don't be too harsh on me.;)

Match of future stars: FC Tatran Presov - Manchester United 1:2 (0:1)

Even thirdly, the young Prešov hope not future star beat Manchester United, which wards Marek story succumbed in great meetings 1:2 (0:1).

Goal moment - Schlosser evens at 1-1 third match future stars are playing in cold weather with occasional snow. Both teams with these conditions but managed to settle and spectators demonstrated good football. At the beginning tried to jump a favorite meeting Jusko home, with his shot but the visiting keeper had major problems. Guests were starting slowly, but gradually took over the baton to details in their hands. The first shot is resolved Rudge, but his shot Vinclér harbored. Home goalkeeper distinguished himself in 25th minute, when faced with Vychytil Weir. But a minute later, has embarked on a bold outside the penalty area after a pass to Byrne free, but when the ball was then a Manchester player has the ball with an overview cleaned up in the abandoned gates - 0:1. Guests score more help, handy Daehlie is airbrushed to the penalty area, but Rudge well positioned badly hit his pass. In 32nd minute, again excellent surgery presented Vinclér when disposed in an advantageous position Deahlimu chance. Home to host the gate received sporadically, at 35 minute from a rebound Micherda tried, but the ball flew Pereirovej next door.

While the first action of the second half belonged to the guests, but again Januzaja Vychytil Vinclér. Gradually, however, more and more began to put their rolls and home. Jusko trip after the recipient has left the gate was found, but Micherda already ended, but the shot lacked vigor. In 66th minute had a great opportunity to equalize relieving Keresteš, but Wilkinson's ending away at the last minute on the goal line. In the 70 minute, but it already went home. After a corner kick in the scrum in a little lime best orient strong captain Schlosser and his happy ending for home fans resulted in Pereirovej gate - 1:1. But the joy did not last two minutes or domestic. After a nice, quick action on the left side is demonstrably pushed Wilson and guests sent back into the lead. Chance to embark on a prestigious match gradually got other players on the benches. Duel but still had good momentum and guests to the 75th minute increase already at 3-1, but at the last minute Schlosser kicking the ball from the goal line. In 85th minute, and substitute goalkeeper showed Drahuše when destroyed Harropove end. Last chance to equalize in the last minute had Kozak, but his shot did not score, so young Prešov hope not or thirdly to beat your opponent. After a draw 2:2 (1:0), last year's losing 0-1 (0-0), this time succumbing to the young "red devil" 1:2 (0:1).

United's Under-18s overcame Tatran Presov 2-1 in a friendly thanks to goals from strikers Sam Byrne and James Wilson.

The Reds overcame tough opponents from Slovakia after creating a number of chances but finding Filip Vincler in the home goal in good form. Jack Rudge and James Weir tested the keeper but he was exposed when Byrne slipped the ball into an empty net for the opener.

Mats Daehli came close while Adnan Januzaj again brought the best out of Vincler at the start of the second half. However, Tatran began to pose problems of their own with Matthew Wilkinson forced to clear off the line before an equaliser arrived on 70 minutes. Captain Filip Schlosser bundled home following a corner to make it 1-1.

United's response was swift as substitute Wilson profited from good play on the left-hand side to fire in the winner. Schlosser made a vital clearance to keep his side in the game as the Reds posted a victory in front of a sizeable crowd.

Paul McGuinness' side are next in action on Wednesday against Dukla Banska Bystrica.

United: Pereira; Grimshaw (capt), McNair (Wilkinson 60), Dalley (McConnell 79), Love; Pearson (Goss 46), Rudge (Willock 79), Daehli (Harrop 79), Januzaj, Weir (Gorre 60); Byrne (Wilson 46).

Didn't see the wednesday game on the MUTV schedule. Wouldn't be surprised if we never see a minute of highlights, why bring the cameras if you're not gonna show it live.

It's not that simple - to show the game live you need the facilities to be able to run a live broadcast, both in terms of venue's facilities (which is never a given when we're talking youth team football) and MUTV's equipment. Much easier to take a couple of cameras and get rough footage that can be potentially cut into highlights.
