This squad's issues were evident back in october. There were almost 10 months to prepare list of targets and they come up with Rabiot? So much for the overhaul of football department.

I don't really mind signing him, he's better than what we have, easily.

The worrying part is whether they are considering it irrespective of FDJ. What's there to consider? We clearly need more than FDJ in midfield for feck sake, and there's a good chance we won't get him. Incompetent twats.

That was last season though. Check the season before that. Much better. If ten Hag can get a tune out of him, he would be good player to have. Massive gamble though.
2020/21 Rabiot was:
57 attempted passes per 90 (better than McTominay, still slightly below Fred who averages 58);
90% passing accuracy (much better, more Matic levels than anyone else in our midfield);
Progressive passes 4.01 (better, puts him around 60th percentile or so, still slightly lower than Fred).

So basically if he gets back to more of his 2020/21 type of form, we’d have a midfielder who can pass to a similar level of Fred, have the stature of McTominay, and be stronger in the defensive areas of the pitch with his positioning, tackles, and pressing.

Just… very underwhelming. Arnautovic and Rabiot are the links after a massive opening day upset.

Are we… broke?

From a purely football perspective I've never been impressed with him, not for France, Juve or when he was at PSG. Not to say he's a bad player but distinctly average whenever I've watch him and rarely a stand out player.
He'll fit right in then

Same people who put us through years of Pogba and Lingard didn't think that was enough, now they want to bring in another two bellends in Rabiot and Arnautović.

Why don't we try and coax El Hadji Diouf to coach the rest of the team to be cnuts too, no doubt they'll announce Greenwood as like a new signing if he gets away with it.

United are making it difficult to support these bunch of cretins as it is.

It would be more about who replaces Fred. Not everything is about De Jong.
Your right, not everything is about de Jong. But Fred is clearly seen as the internal answer to us not getting him. Hence his position yesterday.

I'm more frustrated by a complete lack of foresight in finding players to fill these position's. The scouting department are either ignored, or doing nothing.

Instead, we're dancing around the European transfer merry-go-round for cast offs.

I think he had your standard young lad, lack of professionalism at points, but hardly this toxic attitude being painted here.
Pretty much yes

I mean, he'd be an upgrade on McTominay and he's not 33. At the right price, I wouldn't be opposed.

We need more than one option in that role unless you expect Fred to play every minutes of every games or if you expect him to not shit the bed like yesterday.

Not a hard deal to do. So why now?

What happened to getting the right characters in?

We had how many months to plan for this, how has it come to this?

This is negligence

The one that is supposed to press, tackle and carry the ball more than distribute. Rabiot isn't a distributor but he is good at the rest.
So for example Rabiot Eriksen? Don't think McT and Fred are great distributors, though Fred might be a bit better

At this point, I'd take anyone to replace McTominay. Maybe he'll be just a minimal improvement, but it's still an improvement.
We can buy better players if we're in the CL spot and can make him a bench player or move him if he does not want to

I remember watching him play for the midfield that dominated Barcelona when PSG beat em 4-0.

Rabiot has never caused any issue in a dressing room.
Isn't his mother also his agent? If you thought Raiola was disruptive enough, this would be a new level of nuisance. Its one thing being a loon at Juve or PSG and a completely different thing under the magnifying glass at United.

Why are you lumping Rabiot in here?

It is an upgrade on McTominay, who worryingly appears to still be a starter. In the short term it is not a terrible signing. But it does expose how much of a disaster our transfer window has been. Murtough and Arnold have been found wanting and nothing has changed.

Didn't he reject the idea of coming here not too long ago? If he's up for it, decent price, and in addition to FdJ and a striker, this isn't a terrible move.

Rabiot is mainly a defensive midfielder and a good one. He is very good at carrying the ball but has one pretty big weakness, he hesitates to make certain forward passes in tight space.
So, think Matic without the passing ability?

Feels like no one wants to come so we're panicking with 10th choice targets now.

It was well established that he was prepared to with 'what we have' if the right player isn't available.
Maybe for the FDJ role? Why couldn’t he have meant Eriksen since he spent the second half there yesterday?
It’s tough to throw the criticism at Ten Hag like that when he’s obviously looking to replace McFred in his first transfer window

Christ. This player is awful. He's got a shit attitude and he's never ever hit the heights he was supposed to. Will probably command a huge wage and be as useful as a chocolate teabag.

Absolutely 100% sign him up and erect his statue if it keeps McFred out the team.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
2020/21 Rabiot was:

Just… very underwhelming. Arnautovic and Rabiot are the links after a massive opening day upset.

I think the short answer to this is we can’t afford 65m on De Jong plus 2 40m+ attackers and an expensive CM. We need some cheap signings.

He is not the guy we should be signing. If we do get him, then he better not be the only Midfield signing

Anything better than watching McTom. We will be in the market for anothet midfielder next year but atleast we make a significant improvement now.

So after all the talk of waiting for the right players, the club are in full on panic stations now .

What a bunch of cretinous twats. Anyway bring in whoever as long as it means no more McTominay.
