Strengths

Openers – Was tough to leave Haynes out but this pair would be a mental opening combination. Gayle and Gilchrist could take any game away from the opposition on even an average day.

Balance – Faf Du Plessis averages 55.51 at 3 and Taylor 52.14 at 4.

Run chase – Thorpe was a master at marshalling the tail. The tail enders here are no mugs either. Botham is there to protect them too and also swing where needed, Flower is there to nurdle every last run out of the innings he was a fine batsman.

Bowing – totally balanced. Willis and Roberts were so hard to score against and Roberts, Warne and especially Starc had fantastic strike rates. Botham was also very economical and Warne was the best leggie of all time capable of getting anyone out. Gayle also offers a legitimate 6th option with off spin.

Mani

1.S.TENDULKAR (44.83)
2.M.TRESCOTHICK (37.37)
3.K.WILLIAMSON (47.48)
4.D.MARTYN (40.81)
5.M.BEVAN (53.58)
6.S.HOPE - WK (52.92)
7.C.AMBROSE (BO.AV 24.12 )
8.N.BRACKEN (BO.AV 24.36)
9.D.STEYN (BO.AV 25.95)
10.I.THAHIR (BO.AV 24.83)
11.F.DE VILLIERS (BO.AV 27.74)

Opening with Sachin and Trescothick, left right combination both are well know for their attacking qualities at the early overs.
Kane Williamson the Kiwi starts on his favourable position at one down reliable with bat can ease pressure on any early wkts.
Two Aussie ( D.Martyn & M.Bevan) in the Middle order can play patience and also can score at brisk pace, there running betting wkts would be be vital for any ODI side.M.Bevan at 5 is specialist to deal with end overs who can find the gaps in the field and boundaries at will.S.Hope is wicket keeper batsmen, his skills with bat would come in handy at end overs.

Bowling, Starting with 5 specialist bowlers, 4 Pacers and 1 spinner.Ambrose to open with D.Steyn followed by Fannie and N.Bracken, would be highly difficult to score against this bowling line up considering all four were elite bowlers and got decent success against all top class batsmen.
Spinner, Imran Thahir is decent spinner who can hold on his own, won't be as good as opponents Warne but does his job meekly.

It's hard to look past Tendulkar and Bevan, but that tail is longer than a lemur's. Curtley Ambrose is getting a nosebleed going as high as number seven as anything but a night watchman.

Hope opens the batting for West Indies right?
Yeah, I don't think he's played much at all as anything but an opener and a #3 in ODIs at least. Some great picks from Mani, but I'm not sure about the batting order here.

Hopes a hopelessly slow player as well. Takes ages to get going

The Cat has lovely balance to his team but has too many players who are more suited to Tests. Mani has the better personnel but the balance is a bit off due to that tail. I'm on the fence regarding my vote to be honest.

i really want to like @Mani team but he has only 5 decent batsmen and a crazy tail. He's doing a Kohli in England but in ODIs where it will bite him. Will very reluctantly vote for the @The Cat

Went with the cat's team as well. Mani's team despite having some big hitters doesn't have that much balance and that long tail is a bit of a concern.

The Cat's middle order is messed up, Flower has played only four innings at number 7, Botham has an average of 20 at 6 and Graham Thorpe is also pretty meh at #5. I'd have had Flower at 5, Thorpe at 6 and Botham at 7. The top four are fantastic though.

Whereas Ambrose at 7 is surely a blunder @Mani and Bevan is GOAT at 6. Shai Hope doesn't work in lower middle order too cos he can't really accelerate, if you're picking him then surely he should open or not be in the team at all. I think you should have picked up a bits n pieces player at 7 rather than Fannie De Villiers.

Re: the bowling not quite convinced that Warne and Steyn were ever as good in ODIs as they were in tests and let's hope people don't rate them based on their test credentials. It's a tough match this.

He's here for his WK ability alone didn't know much about him until I picked him to avoid sheep, should have played him higher in the order but don't want to mess up the top 5 to accommodate him higher up the order.

Warne in ODI is still in GOAT tier. Just don't go by numbers, look at his performances in WC semis in 1999 and 1996, and WC final of 1999.
