Absolutely disgusting, United need to make a statement here.
Agree.. Utd should never allow anyone who works for them to be associated with anything like this. No doubt in my mind they done this. Thugs and bullies the lot of them.

How on earth is there an entrance that is deemed important enough to have a team of security guards surround it... yet we are supposed to believe that at the same time someone has deemed that it is not important enough to put cctv equipment in place... or that the cctv did not record anything on this particular day.

Complete Bullshit.

I hope this lad gets some justice.

It’s sickening but not surprising to hear about employees of ”security” companies abusing their power or worse. I’m even more bothered that the police didn’t seem to care more or at least help a young man solve an obvious problem. If they’d have at least de-escalated the situation, it may not have gone as wrong.

I hope evidence is found, and people are punished accordingly.

Who is though, the company, the club or the police? Who owns it?
My guess is that it should be under the custody of the surveilance company, but I'm pretty sure both police and club can enforce them to hand it.
It's really, really weird not to have any footage of OT's main entrance... The investigation should reveal the truth I guess.

Agreed. Previously working there and seeing how much CCTV is in operation, not only in and around the stadium, but around most local premises, I find it hard to believe there is no footage of this. Truly shocking and I hope United give every last ounce of effort with the investigation and finally get rid of this shameful company! The stories I have from working there, considering they supposedly provide the security for Old Trafford, are shocking at best.

Let‘s see what any kind of investigation brings to light. It‘s crazy how people get prematurely judged if racism is allegedly involved but not proven yet. I could think of other ways this story could have gone and reasons for the boy to tell the story the way he did.

So you think he’s exaggerated the whole story? Those cnuts are definitely guilty, their statement on the situation says it all!

I‘m saying let‘s wait with a judgement until the case is properly investigated.

It's amazing isn't it? Guilty until proven innocent. Bizarre as it may be to most sane thinking people, false accusations of racism have and do happen. I've seen it before. On the flip side, there are lots of racist cnuts in this world so also wouldn't be surprised if this is true. But prejudging on gossip is not cool.

Started on 10 security guards and 3 coppers because he was high on crack or one of those other ethnic drugs.

He could have done some damage with that ethnic knife they were searching for in his bag.

Would like to see the police statement. There'd be mention that the CSG thugs believed he was on drugs surely?

Match going fans should make a banner about CSG.
That'd be nice. anyone??

also in what possible situation is it EVER necessary or legit for a group of big security guards to bruise ribs and an eye socket of a 19 year old!? I dont care if the kid was high (probably wasnt) or whatever - its just a completely unnecessary step to take.

This in itself should have all these coward lowlifers charged.

They have more witnesses on their side than the kid does.

The saddest part; Utd will do feck all. It's too much and one kid is easier to throw under a bus

Yeah sounds a bit strange. Also in these high alert fear of terror days. Not sure how many angles/places CCTV usually covers though

But their witnesses are mostly involved all of them?

Surely some other CCTV can check if the main offender went around the block after the beating, just to see if that part of the story holds water

I dont see what interest United would have to cover this up as the story is horrible PR. And good PR would be to take action. Am I missing something here?

Isn't it likely United refusing the CCTV?
you would think the CCTV would be the club's property. its unclear who is denying the access or ignoring it hoping it will go away. I know a disabled guy who was manhandled at hospital, demanded the CCTV and was told it was unavailable that day

The company I work for keeps CCTV for 28 days, and will only hand it over to the police (due to GDPR) if they contact us before it gets overwritten. Police often don’t give a shit to be honest unless someone gets stabbed.

Remove the racist element and this is the sort of exchange that happens between these security firms up and down the country every week. They're all on power trips. Really not hard to believe the kid's side of the story.

I also severely doubt they have lost the CCTV footage from the main entrance of Old Trafford. I bet if this had been a terrorist attack they would find it pretty quickly.

Like him confronting the security guards in an aggressive manner and causing the altercation for example. As I stated above, the story requires proper investigation before anybody is being judged prematurely. The story, as he told it, may turn out to be true.

Highly unlikely to me. He was going to work, not a drunkard outside a night club trying force his way in.

Just out of curiosity, what makes you think he would’ve done this and why?

The best option would be to re tender the contract. CSG would have to be seen to be taking action. Losing a huge contract like Utd would hurt them.

Whoever is in charge of issuing the contract must have got a lovely under the counter payment

I can't imagine the CCTV belonging to anyone else. Yes, I bet it was working the day (or even the hours) before/after just fine.

I hope for some justice for the victim.
If there is CCTV it should be investigated and clarified why on earth it wasn't recording on matchday.
This is not something you put energy on making up.
Really hope the security company is suspended until the investigation is over.

He could've been upset that he wasn't allowed in straight away, got more upset because he took it personal and started a confrontation in which he exaggerated the way he was being spoken to quite a bit. I'm not saying it's more likely, nor am I saying the boy shouldn't be believed. But the guards should also not be judged prematurely. That is all I'm saying.

One young lad confronted several aggressive security guards, bigger than him? Come on man, you're seriously reaching, and sounds like you're defending them. Even if he did, all of them attacking one person still isn't warranted, let alone the racist abuse. He's black and was probably wearing a hoodie, so the cnuts profiled him like "this n***a doesn't work here" feck anyone trying to justify this.

It does happen, believe it or not. And no, I‘m not defending them. If you read my posts carefully and without getting caught up in your emotions, you‘d realize I simply want a proper investigation to take place before judging them accordingly.

"K called his manager, who said She would try and get the manager on shift to come to K with his badge and pass"

Ask her and if She says it's true, then this 100% happened. Which is disgusting.

Got angry just reading that.

Not surprised the footage has gone missing, looks bad for the club. However, that firm needs to go. I'm not of the opinion that anyone should be jailed for just language but a racially motivated assault? That's jail time. Sack the whole security firm off, hopefully the offending pricks get time.

Spot on, although people will accuse you of being racist. Sad that nuance, balance and patience are lost arts in this day and age.

I'm appalled if this story turns out to be true. There are a lot of very good security companies who manage events at locations where they know they need to be sensitive and deal with people from all backgrounds in a respectful way. They often aren't the cheapest but they stop situations like this happening.

The cheaper end of the security market is where you can get a lot of "infiltration" by people with questionable views. Giving United the benefit of the doubt it may be the case that a company has a good reputation at first, but if people with dodgy attitudes start infiltrating it, the organisation go south really quickly. if you don't believe me just google "Aryan brotherhood infiltraion of local law enforcement" - scary stuff!
