Nothing but the usual just beat Man Utd hype, even though we're shit.

Title race obviously nonsense, though that applies to anyone not named Liverpool really as Liverpool have actually shown they can do it.

They are in the top 4/5 race though. They tossed aside the League cup and didn't start well in Europa League... might be ignoring that one too? We'll see how serious they go. Always weird for me when smaller clubs toss aside their only chance at a trophy

They won't finish in the top four. It's not a coincidence that they're getting battered today after playing 2 games a week for a few weeks. Their players aren't used to that level of intensity, and it eventually wrecks league seasons for any upper mid table clubs that go on cup runs. For evidence of this see: Leicester, West Ham etc. Great sides when They've got everyone fit and they have a full week to prepare (sometimes against a side who's had a few days themselves), not so great when they're having to push that same 11 every 3-4 days.

Oh 100%, I've always said this will be a big hit for that trio of teams this season and a big advantage for Spurs and Chelsea. It makes a huge difference and it wasn't talked about enough about us last season.

But they did toss aside the league cup and lost their first game of the europa league. Didn't watch, but if they essentially ignore the europa league as well and show that they'll ignore the cups, then they will be in the CL race as they'll have that freshness. Too early to say really, but it's why I'd rather our competitors are in similar competitions as it's a huge plus to not be in those comps.

They're a very good side that could easily be up there. They're not some fluke team. They're a side who will be affected by fixture congestion, so it depends on how they handle that. If they ignore the other cups and focus on the league, then they'll be in a CL race. If they show interest in the europa league then their league form will seriously suffer. Doesn't mean they aren't a very good side... the prem these days is of such high quality that any of the best 8 sides or so can hammer any other on any given day. Hell even add Brentford and West Ham to that list. Half of the league is of really high quality and if your sharpness isn't there on the day, the system isn't quite right on the day, the other side is extra motivated, you don't get a couple of decisions on the day... things can quickly start falling away.

City is basically the only side immune to it.
