No. Compete for everything.
We aren't Spurs.
We aren't Spurs.
Just let nature takes it course. Since we are well rested there is no need to rotate for the Wolves game apart from injury. Should we pass Wolves, FA Semi will be 3 days before CL game, so 1 or 2 players will be rested.Yeah, might as well sacrifice the FA Cup and concentrate on Top 4 and CL. It wouldn't be so much of a problem if top 4 was already wrapped up. And FA Cup didn't exactly do LVG's legacy any good. He's still remembered as a clown.
Madness.Moan when we're out of competitions, moan when we're still in competitions.
It really is. I understand and totally get any club prioritising 1 trophy above another but a club like Manchester United should be going out to win every game. It's what the club's about. If we come up short in any comp, so be it.Madness.
I can understand rotating the squad for the Cup if we have a big league/European game after a couple of days, but the lads have almost had a week to recover from the last game...Plus we don’t have any game midweek...It makes no sense at all to “rest” players for tonight’s game..,Seriously, FA Cup, Champions League, top four finish with a squad that is patently too thin. I think Ole should be playing the B-team on Saturday against Wolves.
You must be buzzing you got your wish then? Less games, out of that teeny tiny little competition called the FA Cup, roll on fighting to be the 4th best team in England, buzzingBless
Yep, as much as it sucks we just aren't in a situation where we can fight on 3 fronts yet. We don't have the depth like City have to rotate happily.Well we're certainly not now. It was a very disappointing result and performance at the weekend but the time off over the weekend of the 6th and 7th April before Barca could be key for us, and playing both legs of a potential CL semi against Liverpool, the cup final probably against City and two PL games versus Chelsea and Huddersfield into the space of less than two weeks would have been brutal. Obviously we should compete for everything but losing two big games from a packed schedule is a slight sliver of silver for us.
City has been extremely lucky on FA draws. First it was Swansea, then there was no VAR, then they pick Brighton instead of the other 2. FA Semi is 3 days before CL so in reality it was the ONLY 1st huddle considering all previous games had 1 week to rest. So City can now play their B team and rest 6-7 players for Spurs. Had we beaten Wolves we might have drawn Watford, in reality Ole would have to choose between FA or CL, so probably rest 2-3 players in FA Semi. Now the problem has disappeared. The one creating this thread probably hope we give up against Barca and focus on top 4 now. Too much to fight on multiple fronts of course. Yet City looks to maybe win 4.
1-2 players won't do if we want a result at Camp Nou. We play Barca, Wham, Barca within 6 days. No chance 8-9 outfield players can play in all three games with the necessary intensity. After Barca we play Everton away (21th), City (24th) and Chelsea (28th) within a week. Ole should master the art of rotation to get results in those games.City has been extremely lucky on FA draws. Our only hurdle is Westham, which is sandwiched between 2 CL. I guess we can rest 1-2 players and might still get the job done. If we advance into CL Semi then raise this thread again.
But City and Chelsea would be worry about Semi final while we are not1-2 players won't do if we want a result at Camp Nou. We play Barca, Wham, Barca within 6 days. The game with City is 6-7 days before CL semis, they won't think about that if they go past Spurs and fight for the league. Dunno about Chelsea, but if they are still with a realistic chance for top 4 at that point, it won't be a walk in the park either. Rotation will be key.But City and Chelsea would be worry about Semi final while we are not
