Hmmm, who will they play between them? shall we choose Sakic or Forsberg :)

'kin excellent signing this, and Kariya and Selanne had agreed when they both turned free agents to join the same team even if it meant a drop in wages. Can see the broadcasters wanting to show Colorado now as well as they are very offensive and entertaining whereas the boring Devils and these defensive lineups HOPEFULLY get less time on the air.

fecking amazing ... kariya signed for about a tenth of his 2002-2003 salary

kariya, selanne, forsberg, sakic, blake ... thats 5 guys with a shot at the hall of fame ... playing for one team!

wonderful and well done to pierre lacroix ... one of the biggest days in nhl free agency

also gives the avs the chance to deal some other players for some much needed blue line presence or a top notch goalie ... wonder if st. patrick regrets retiring now ....

Think that one of the reasons they were able to sign Selanne and Kariya was specifically because Roy retired, making it possible to pay the 7.5 m they wanted. Selanne and Kariya knew that they had this hole in their wage structure and made their sallary demands accordningly. Though it is likely that Selanne could have dropped his sallary even more as it was not important for him. Now Kariya took most of it and left Selanne to take the rest (the cut that is).
