They also met in a club where she admitted to lying about her real age.
And I also think it's two separate discussions. 18 is the legal age for prostitution. It isn't the age of consent for a regular consensual sexual relationship. Throwing out terms like child-abuser isn't only inaccurate, but deliberately misleading.

I can only laugh at City being awarded the best club of the year and Madrid being only 3rd.

Ronaldo fanboys infesting the thread already, mad that their GOAT is sulking on the bench and is finished as a top player.

Good thing is Messi and Ronaldo will be out of top football soon after the WC, hope their annoying fanboys go away too.
It's Lewandowski and Ronaldo fanboys.

One doesn't have a Balloon D'Or, and the other guy is finished sulking on the bench, soon to play on the MLS.
The one thing more annoying than 'fanboys' is people who use that puerile phrase every sentence.

Benzema fully deserve winning this one.

But Lewandoski also deserved winning at least 1 from previous 2 years prior.

Benzema deserves this one as the World Cup is not included.

Lewa deserved it in 2020 when it was cancelled due to the pandemic.

The only explanation of why City won the best club award is that they promised oil barrels for the organizer if they win it.

Real Madrid "campaigning" has nothing to do with who wins.

Ronaldo deserved it when he won. 4 out of his 5 wins came after winning the CL (And Euros in 2016). You can argue Ribery should have won in 2014 but Ronaldo banged close to a 100 G/A (!) in 2013 & there was a huge debate beck then because Messi won over Sneijder/Xavi/Iniesta couple years before so there was a standard in place.

Modric deserved it when he won. The unexpected world cup final from Croatia, Ronaldo slowing down in the later stages the CL while Modric was shinning, and Ronaldo's rocky Juventus start...

Benzema deserved it when he won. He had a Ronaldo/Messi esque season, and on top of that was clutch in La Liga, CL and Nations League.

It's unfortunate for him but I don't think Lewandowski was the best player in the world at any point in his career. I don't think Benzema last season was better than Lewandowski in 19/20 either but he simply has less competition. Messi had an absolute freak season, matching Lewandowski's scorer/minute in a much weaker team and from a far deeper position all the while contributing much more in the playmaking and chance creation aspect. I don't think many who followed both players closely and somewhat objectively would have chosen Lewandowski ahead of him. People made a scandal out of it because they were tired of the Messi/CR7 dominance. With Benzema it's different. This year he clearly stands out above all the rest. Over both their careers, Lewandowski is probably just as deserving of a Ballon d'Or as him but he just had better timing.

I think you are getting the years confused that I was talking about.

They're finalising a renewal till 2024. Then they're going to go all out to try and get Haaland, lets hope they do.

The forward planning at Madrid is the best, why they're always in the mix for the ucl and don't really go through a rebuild phase.
just in time for city to get Kane

we’re fishing in a different pond

They pushed back the voting in 2013, it was ridiculous.

No one can deny that the ballon d’or winner is almost never to be found playing in the EPL. Playing for Italian or more recently Spanish teams has an advantage somehow. Even when English football was dominating Europe from 1976 till 1985 they did not win any ballon d’ors.
The weight the champions league gets in this voting is natural, after all the best teams of Europe play in the champions league. This was not the case in the past when it was called EC 1.

If EPL teams miraculously win the champions league for the next 15 years like La Liga has done then we will also see ballon d’or winners playing for teams in England.

This remains unlikely because the pulling power of Barca and Real will always ensure they have the best talent gathered.

That was because individually the best player wasn't in England from 1976 to 1985, except maybe Kenny Daglish, Platini and Rummenigge won it during that period.

Ironically an english player (Kevin Keegan) won it twice but playing in Germany, cause Bundesliga was ultra highly rated in 70s and 80s.

I know, perhaps some liverpool fans can shed some light on this. Was keegan better at hamburg than in his period in liverpool?

Michael Owen won it at liverpool and CR7 at Utd.
