Hah, all these lists have a lot of "artistic and underground"-esque pop / electro / rock band albums but all the rap stuff is just the commercially successful ones. Utter bollocks.
Feel free to post more rap-centric lists, seeing recommendations I don't already know would be great.

Familiars definitely isn't the standard Antlers pick but is Smother that controversial?

I know TWFM seems to be the National album of choice this decade but I never entirely got why that has the edge over the others....

I actually thought Two Dancers were from 2010 which for me means at least Present Tense and the former ranking above Smother. But now that Two Dancers is actually from 2009 I can see why it's less controversial.

I like High Violet but I like Trouble Will Find Me way more. And it seems to be a general trend. Don't ask me why though.
That said I know one music writer who might place I Am Easy to Find above both even though he's a fan of all of them.

Finally, someone on redcafe who appreciates KL!! Sickest live band around atm, and different shade just blew me away when it dropped.
I've got to be honest I'm late to the party with Knocked Loose. I heard Counting Worms last year on my recommended Spotify playlist by chance, listened to Laugh Tracks not long after and then bought it on vinyl.

I saw them at Slam Dunk Festival this year and they were brilliant. A Different Shade of Blue is going to feature pretty high on my album of the year list.

This might be a bit of a controversial thing to say but I'd go as far as saying they're the best hardcore band on the planet right now.

I was talking about the lists by professional journalist, not the ones posted by caftards. I'll try to come up with a list when on PC.

They are definitely strongly staking a claim for that title. I mean, for nostalgic reasons the biggest thing in 2019 for me was the reunion of Have Heart, but other than that nothing has been better than KL, their album and their promo videos. The kerrang-pit video is insane.

Any list that has St. Vincent on it is a good list.
