Who are some players with amazing goals to games record?

Just found a female football who plays in Romania who has scored 274 goals in 111 league games but it's not really that much of a feat when you consider the team she played for scored 253 goals in 24 games in the season she scored over 100.

Back onto actual competitive football. Fernando Peyroteo scored 329 in 197 for Sporting Lisbon in the late 30's/40's.

Who else is there?

Arthur Friedenreich - believed to have scored over 1300 goals in about as many matches during his career in Brazil from 1909-1935.

Peyroteo though has the highest ratio of all time I believe

The more obvious one of recent times would be Cristiano Ronaldo with 364 goals in 348 games from Real Madrid.

Premier League wise, Chicharito has to be up there with the best goals-to-minutes ratio.

Josef Bican - the most prolific player in history, scored more than 805 goals in competitive games. Wiki has his league record on 607 goals in 406 games.
He also played for three national teams, 14 goals in 19 games for Austria, 12 goals in 14 games for Czechoslovakia and 3 in 1 for Bohemia and Moravia

Also, Arthur Friedenreich. His exact number of games and goals is not known. Friedenreich is reported to have scored 1329 goals in 1239 games. However, Pelé fans argue he scored 1239 in 1329 games.

Pele but people on the internet say he played without offside so his goals don't count.

Almost ONLY strikers will be mentioned in this thread.

Who had impressive strike rates for a defender? or midfielder?

Steve Bruce had a season scoring almost 20 goals. Dennis irwin always seemed to score about 5 a season which was good.

I always think that anyone before before about 30 years ago should be separated from more recent footballers in stuff like this.

The game may have been rougher, but it wasn't as technical or athletic. Defending has improved a tonne too.

Isn't Pele claiming that he himself has scored over 2000 goals in his career for club and country?
No, he says that he scored over 1000. He also says that with today's conditions, facilities etc. he would've scored more than 2000 and he says that he probably made more assists than goals.

More recently I'd say Ivanovic. Always seems to score a fair few each season.

These numbers don't cover his entire career, but people need to be reminded of how great and consistent a goalscorer Mario Jardel was in Brazil, Portugal and Turkey from 1990 to 2003:
294 goals / 310 games = 0,95 goals per game

Austrian Franz Binder (mainly active in the 30s and 40s) reportedly scored a mind boggling 1006 goals in 756 games. That's an average of 1,33 goals per game over his entire career including friendlies etc.; in Rapid lore he is generally considered the first player in the world to score over 1000 goals although Friedenreich is a more likely candidate for this particular honor.
In 347 official matches for Rapid Vienna, Austria and "Germany" (during the Nazi reign after Austria's Anschluss) he scored 421 goals.

Edit: Please note that the data on Binder is somewhat hazy, but it's safe to assume that over his entire career his goals per game ratio was well beyond 1,0.

Koeman scored over 200 goals during his career, he is the most prolific defender of all time. Plus Passarella, Hierro, Beckenbauer, Bruce, R. Carlos - all score more than 100

Gunnar Nordahl scored 440+ in ~500 club games. Third highest Serie A scorer of all time, 5 times winner of the top scorer title (a record that stands to this day), and has the best goals per game output in the top 50 scorers of Serie A with 0.78 (for reference: Nyers has 0.65, Shevchenko has 0.56, Batistuta has 0.58, Vieri has 0.54). His record for goals in a Serie A season stood for almost 70 years before Higuaín broke it towards the end of last season. Also scored 43 in 33 matches for Sweden (1.3 goals per match).

Imre Schlosser scored ~420 in ~320 club games, and 59 in 68 for Hungary. Ended up as the top scorer in Europe 4 times. Arsenio Erico in the Primera División, and for Paraguay.

Ronald Koeman scored almost 250 club goals (including almost 90 in 6 seasons for Barcelona - never failed to hit double digits in a season). Apart from having a ratio of 0.18 for Holland at the international level. Passarella is another one: ratio of 1 goal in 3 games at international level.

Koeman with amazing numbers there.

Stuart Pearce retired on 99 goals and missed a peno in his last ever career game

Fernando Hierro is probably the next in line after Koeman and Passarella with 133 goals in total.

TBH, Hierro's aggregate figures are a little tricky. Great accomplishment, no doubt - but he had 2 insane seasons in the early '90s where he scored 44 goals, combined. And those came as Madrid's delegated penalty/set piece taker, and him being played further forward - in midfield, for the bulk of Madrid's matches. Apart from that brief 3 years burst, he scored only about 6-7 goals per year on average. Also ended up as Spain's highest scorer at the time of retirement, though (29 in 89 games, until Raúl eclipsed him).

Some youth level stats are crazy.

Yeşil, who Liverpool just released, scored 20 goals from 21 games for Germany U17.

Bojan netted 1000 goals for Barcelona's youth teams.

Jimmy Greaves had a very impressive club ratio, something like 420 in 600 and 44 in 57 for England.

Going back further, Just Fontaine managed 259 in 283 at club level and 30 in 21 for France.
