that's been the case all season and look at some of the games they have lost, even against you they could have easily conceded at least 4 themselvesI'd be delighted with that, but they're relegated now so an early goal will likely kill any resistance.
On paper, and on form, Liverpool should be strolling through their remaining matches.
Yes and yes.Money?
Also you know he'll want to prove himself at one of the "big" clubs in England after failing at Liverpool.
He'll end up back at Chelsea at some point, I'm convinced of it!
Aye, Arsenal should have gone for him instead of Emery. Don't think Spurs ever had a realistic chance of getting him, it would have required sacking Poch while he was still considered the right guy for Spurs. By the time Poch was sacked, it was too late.Arsenal and Spurs missed their chance, it would be a step backwards.
none of the coward 6 clubs would touch Rodgers when he was at Celtic he was always going to need a Prem club in betweenAye, Arsenal should have gone for him instead of Emery. Arsenal had two chances I’m sure they could of gone for him after they sacked Emery. Don’t know what they were thinking giving it to Arteta.Aye, Arsenal should have gone for him instead of Emery. they were interested, that's when he got his new massive contract then they went for ArtetaArsenal had two chances I’m sure they could of gone for him after they sacked Emery. Don’t know what they were thinking giving it to Arteta.
Interesting, you learn something new everyday.they were interested, that's when he got his new massive contract then they went for Arteta
I don't think it ever got as far as a formal approach but they were definitely making contact with himInteresting, you learn something new everyday.
He did a good job at Swansea and Liverpool, even if he had a few flaws. Why a team like Arsenal, whose owners aren't even pretending like they want the club to win titles, didn't at least take a punt makes no sense. He'd proven he could get a team to do well in the Prem.none of the coward 6 clubs would touch Rodgers when he was at Celtic he was always going to need a Prem club in between
Maybe if they offered him massive piles of cash, but I think their choice of Arteta shows that they weren't looking to pay big money for whomever they got.Arsenal had two chances I’m sure they could of gone for him after they sacked Emery. Don’t know what they were thinking giving it to Arteta.
simple reason, arrogance, they were above taking a manager from lowly SPLHe did a good job at Swansea and Liverpool, even if he had a few flaws. He almost won the league for Liverpool. We need to keep him as long as we can and we may well keep him for a while.
He would leave us for one of Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea probably, but at the same time I expect all 4 clubs don't consider him quite good enough, clubs like Spurs and Arsenal were not able to entice him.
Just slipped up at the last hurdleHe almost won the league for Liverpool.
If the Ole project doesn’t work out I would definitely take him here after OleWould anyone take him here at Utd? Anyone...anyone ?
Yes. Pound for pound he’s done a far better job at Leicester than Ole has at United.Would anyone take him here at Utd? Anyone...anyone ?
Easier with lower expectations and less pressure though. He hasn’t inherited a real mismatched squad either. At Utd I doubt if the fans would accept tame results as WHU, Newcastle, BrightonYes. Pound for pound he’s done a far better job at Leicester than Ole has at United.
West Ham look to be falling over themselves in the last few games. In a context of a team that was battling relegation not long ago, sure they’re doing well relative to that. However, they could easily end up behind Spurs and Everton and finish 9th, which isn’t manager of the year material really. If Leicester hold on for a top 4 finish and with the FA cup, I’d say Rodgers should get it over Pep.I would say Rodgers (if he gets top four) and Moyes are probably the managers of the season. I think those two have exceeded expectations the most.
Yeah it’s very easy to get clubs like Leicester into a CL spot and win the FA cup. Which is why we see it so often. You’re also absolutely right Ole has not been supported one bit, £80m for Maguire, £50m for Bruno, etc etc etc.Easier with lower expectations and less pressure though. He hasn’t inherited a real mismatched squad either. At Utd I doubt if the fans would accept tame results as WHU, Newcastle, Brighton
Pluses: he has supportive owners and has bought pretty well.
Would anyone not?Would anyone take him here at Utd? Anyone...anyone ?
Well there are certainly question marks in terms of can he do it if he is not the underdog / expected to win. For example look at his record in Europe for both Liverpool and Leicester.Would anyone not?
Cause there's zero evidence he's a great coach.Would anyone not?
He has won the FA cup with Leicester, no bigger achievement than Martinez winning it with Wigan. Other than that he has almost won the league with Liverpool, and almost gotten top 4 with Leicester. Now I'm not downplaying his achievements, because he has done more than what was expected of him. But as of why we would welcome him here, I see no major arguments.Would anyone not?
Leicester imo, is a better job than any in the PL bar United, Liverpool and City. Spurs and Arsenal have higher ambitions and pressurr but worse leadership and Chelsea will sack him within 2-3 years regardless. He's already been at Liverpool so unless United or City offer him the job or something else changes, I think he's best off at Leicester.Fair play he’s a good manager
Plays attacking football and signs highly rated young players
Anybody got a feeling he’ll join Spurs over the summer? They’re obviously waiting for someone.

I'd rather an up and coming manager like Tuchel and Nagelsmann were when Chelsea and Bayern hired them. Both may well be sacked by then so maybe they'll be available anyway.I would have him here when Ole goes.
Tuchel is 47 and Rodgers is 48.I'd rather an up and coming manager like Tuchel and Nagelsmann were when Chelsea and Bayern hired them. Both may well be sacked by then so maybe they'll be available anyway.
That said, we could do worse than Rodgers. I don't care about his past at Liverpool. He'll just have more motivation to do well here for revenge.
What's wrong with you? He beat us and Chelsea to win the FA Cup. Most cups take some elements of luck but to go all the way is highly commendable, and to do so as underdogs even more so. Not to mention his consistency in the league, taking Leicester to pushing top 4 in back to back seasons, which is a place their wage bill and transfer spends give them no right to be in.Why are people so eager to shower him with praise? That win had very little to do with him.
Feck no. What did we learn today?Would anyone take him here at Utd? Anyone...anyone ?
Fair point. I think I was showing my PL bias there. Rodgers challenged for the title at Liverpool so he doesn't seem like a new manager to me while Tuchel does.Tuchel is 47 and Rodgers is 48.
