Claudio Ranieri - Roma Manager Again

He got such a perfect send off at his last match with Cagliari, everyone applauding him including the referee. Kept them up last year and promoted the year before.
Why not just end it on a nice note like that

can't believe how mismanaged they are. it wasn't long ago that I posted about De Rossi's sacking, but they sacked the next guy as well. already on third manager and it's november.

anyway, Claudio Sackwatchieri.

He started his career in Rome, and it's only right that he ends it there. In his city, for the team he supports. He will also have an executive position at the club after his coaching tenure. Maybe, just maybe, the Friedkins have realized that Roma needs someone inside who understands football and knows the mood of its people.

What he's done so far has been nothing short of extraordinary.

Might be the most impressive season of his career bar the obvious candidate.

If Venezia do them a favour and Roma beat Torino then Roma get UCL football. This man replaced Juric which even more astonishing

Feels like Juventus have won about three games in the last six months and yet they're still 4th. Was surprised looking at the table that Roma are still below them.

Probably a bit like 2010, they'll just fall short despite being the form team in second half of the season.

Get the feeling Ranieri will stay on for next season rather than just retiring (again).

The way he said goodbye to the fans yesterday it seems pretty clear he doesn't want to coach anymore. Though I guess if he doesn't find anyone he likes to take the job he might continue

We will know next week wether Hummels red card against Bilbao saved their season or ruined it... But withoutt that elimination and had they had 4 more EL games they probably wouldn't be still fighting for top 4/top 5... On the other hand had they qualified Italy might have secured the extra spot and made the top 5 enough for UCL.
