Wanted to find this out for the longest time.
Not sure if anyone has even recorded it but it will be great if it can be done if it hasn't.

What is the Stat for the amount of games teams who've won the coin toss vs how many times they've lost?

Would keep it to the PL just to see, but would be great to know. Superstitious like that.

Ahem, Sheffield won the toss against Chelsea today...

It is not known and it can only be found out by manually looking at the footage of every single PL game which is limited access since the majority have not been televised.

It doesn't have to be every game every played.
Would be laborious but would give it a try for one seasons worth of games just to see.

This would've been fully researched and concluded on by now if you had asked the question late March.

There has to be a record in some obscure bet company basement. Years ago you could bet on who would win the coin toss, I knew a guy that did ¿exponential? bets on coin tosses, made a couple thousands wasting 12 hours a day betting on that, and then when he could reap a couple thousands more he got banned because he was. statistically speaking, "cheating the house".

Why? Seems completely irrelevant
Might just be me but always seems to impact a home team if they're not attacking their favourite end in the second half e.g. Man. United not kicking towards Stretford End or Liverpool towards the Kop.

Probably not a big sample size though as it rarely happens. Burnley were one who did it as I remember Rodriguez hitting that thunderbolt infront of the Stretford end and that was a second half goal.

Surprising at likes of Old Trafford and other grounds where away fans are stuck in the corner that more away teams don't do as there's no real advantage for them considering they're kicking towards home fans in both halves.

Betting firms I would imagine, are supplied stats from specialist firms, I don't think they actually employ someone to monitor stats themselves.
If you find odds offered for the coin toss, delve into who their supplier is, and take it from there.

There doesn't have to be. Records aren't always kept.

It's amazing how much rituals and superstitions players have.
To entering the field with the left foot first. Doing the cross thing, etc. Some probably also have ocd with wanting to get to chose which side.

But on the win stat. Would really be interesting to see. Like someone mentioned, ending off a game on your supporters side can give an extra push and motivation so it could play into how often a team that choses which side to play wins the game.
