Zlatan Tactics
Gone for quite a fluid attacking forward line, although Figo will mainly stay right, Rivaldo scan tuck in, Rooney can drift, gullit can move into the spaces left.
Two tough central holders in Effenberg and makelele.
Solid centre backs with hierro able to progress the ball.
Santos can use the left to get forward, Neville has a bad rep these days but was quality during his playing days, should compliment figo, good support and overlapping runs.
Solid Cech in goals

- Star player Zico is given a platform to shine in a familiar 4-2-2-2 shape. There's a wealth of quality on the ball in deeper areas which will ensure he gets plenty of time on the ball, and prodigious energy and kaleidoscopic movement from his partners in the forward line to utilise his vision and create space for him to get into goalscoring positions.
- There's no particular onus on keeping possession here as a defensive tactic, and we'll intersperse direct play with possession phases, but we have so much quality in possession that I expect us to see more of the ball here.
- Defensive line will drop moderately deep out of possession as it fits our CBs playing styles better, and we'll adopt an aggressive mid-press, boosted by the immense work rate of Reus, Suarez and Keegan.
- Keegan is preferred to Tevez for this match as he was so comfortable peeling out wide to either flank. This will both create space for Reus and Zico to hit, and ideally drag Stam out at times to isolate Hierro, who could struggle with the pace and mobility of our forward line. Here's Keegan constantly moving wide and edging a great personal duel vs Berti Vogts:
