Why is everybody saying Wales will play Denmark? Finland beat them on the head-to-head, so aren't Finland second?
Minitable where GD comes into play as Finland beat Denmark, Russia beat Finland and Denmark beat Russia.

Nope. Russia beat Finland so all three are on 3 points. It goes to goal difference in games between the three teams

Denmark were really unfortunate to be in this do or die situation. I always said they came into the tournament in excellent form. So pleased the class eventually showed in such adverse conditions. Really looking forward to that Wales match now.

Well played Denmark. Absolute joy to watch. Delighted they are through.

Russia got what they deserved. Time wasting from minute 1 and just overall pish.

Stop talking rubbish , in theory Scotland Croatia Poland and Spain can still not qualify and even Portugal may not qualify

Is it them or are their disgruntled Russians mixed in with the crowd there? I can see their flags hanging in that area.
Pretty sure it was the Denmark fans. Commentators mentioned it too.

Ukraine and Finland are basically out after these results so the games in the other games are pretty much meaningless in some ways.

They need to change this format of the competition
If Scotland/Croatia draw Ukraine are through.

Credit where it's due to Russia. They've managed to find an even more flaky keeper than Akinfeev, which takes some doing.

Well they dropped their keeper from the first game for that lad, so they found two!

England have qualified to the KO stage now, right? They've 4 points, the worst they can finish is 3rd and they cannot be one of the 2 worst 3rd places (Ukraine and Finland have 3 points)

Its not though. Not in a three way tie.
You're wrong. Criteria 4 is for the three-way tie. It refers back to criteria 1-3.

If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group matches, the following tie-breaking criteria are applied:[1]

  1. Higher number of points obtained in the matches played between the teams in question;
  2. Superior goal difference resulting from the matches played between the teams in question;
  3. Higher number of goals scored in the matches played between the teams in question;
  4. If, after having applied criteria 1 to 3, teams still have an equal ranking, criteria 1 to 3 are reapplied exclusively to the matches between the teams who are still level to determine their final rankings.

Scenes at Parken. Wonderful to see the Russians destroyed like that.
