Day 5: Switzerland vs Cameroon | Uruguay vs South Korea | Portugal vs Ghana | Brazil vs Serbia

Can't wait for Ronaldo to shit the bed here. It's funny I usually tend to support Portugal in tournaments, but after this past month... nah. Once Ronaldo is out of the national team and they replace Santos I'll probably enjoy watching them again

I thought playing Leao would be the better choice for Portugal, but maybe they want to start 2 up front which fit better with Ronaldo and Felix there.

Fair enough then. I don't watch much Dortmund, but their defence always seems pretty dodgy in recent times so I'd assumed Guerreiro was a contributor to that.

I think Leao has the biggest gripe at being excluded, but I guess it's just the result of shoehorning Ronaldo in at all costs.

Guerreiro is a decent defender and great offensive threat. Good dribbler and crosser. Either him or Nuno Mendes are great choices. Portugal is a different context to Dortmund.

Correct in your Leão /Ronaldo input

Supported the mighty Ghana since the Essien days. Hopefully they can do something against this very talented Portugal side

I wish the build ups would focus more on the teams / players involved in the upcoming games. Rather than just pad them out with talk about all the home nations camps.

Hardly anything newsworhy happens between England and Wales matches, yet coverage of every live match - so 3 or 4 a day - they go over the same home nations chats, or have frivolous / boring interviews from the camp, as filler before each game, at HT, after the games...

Maybe many British viewers would get bored listening to analysis of the 'foreign' teams and players, but I find it a lot more interesting and fresh than both channels constantly going over the same stuff multiple times a day.

ITV just refreshing my memory, as if I needed it, that Luis Suarez is a massive cnut.

Conflicted. Should I want Portugal to lose for CR7 or should I want Portugal to win for Dalot & Bruno?

I think it's possible that the game plays out a little like the Canada/Belgium one. Portugal have fewer finished/lightweight players than Belgium do, though.

I'm hoping for a miserable Uruguay performance in this world cup so Nunez can come home very early. Hopefully in two games time! Then we can happily relax with our transfer budget 'disaster '.

Come On Darwin!! Score... Zero Goals!!! :D:cool:
I had some hope Klopp would make him more serviceable but nah. We don't generate that many chances to have him at the end of them.

And you probably want to take that back. When things aren't going his way his mind isn't right and he becomes angry, rash and, well, not very good. Suárez had that trait for a long time, he used to have those games that you thought "oh crap, he is at odds with the world today". It's not exactly being a confidence player, just at risk of spiraling out of control.

I want Ghana to destroy them. Dalot and Bruno will have more chances, I wish Ronaldo a shitty WC.

You could want them to lose, from a United point of view, so that Bruno gets a longer rest before our season restarts?

That's tempting for me but, personally, I want them to win for Bruno, Dalot and Ronaldo.

How dare ITV Call out Fernandes for 'moaning' when Ronaldo is there? such a bias

Are Souness and Keane moaning about those moaning foreigners again, my god

If you’re real quiet you can hear the sound of Roy’s and Rio’s hands coming together for a quick prayer about Ronaldo scoring, so they can put blame on Ten Hag for not getting the best out of the “extraordinary Ronnie”…

I'm sure Ronaldo will use the past weeks as fuel to exceed. Hope he fails miserably

This is why Fernando santos gives me cancer.

Guerreiro?
Danilo at cb ?
No leão ??
Rúben Neves??

Draw a line under everything and relinquish all ill feeling. No need to harbour resentment.

Hoping to see a Ronaldo masterclass at this tournament. His 5th world cup, also Messi’s. Before this tournament began only 3 other player had played in 5 world cups. Remaroable achievement.
