Went on a little bit of 1990's A.C. Milan binge earlier and remembered I had watched a youtube video of Savicevic once and thinking how it was pretty weird how he wasn't held in higher regard. I don't want to try and tell people how to spend 15-20 minutes of their life, but if you want to see a player who would be about as perfect as they come for that sacred RW spot for United, then enjoy this;

There is also a nice piece on him here which goes some way to showing why he perhaps never made it into the conversation as one of the greats.

Sensational player. Here's a video of him destroying us back in 1991. We won the 1-0 and Fergie said at the end of the match we could have easily lost 5-0.

Yeah, these older Yugoslavian players were absolutely brilliant on their day. Savicevic, Dragan Stojkovic, Prosinecki. Perhaps a little bit inconsistent unfortunately.

That's a good article, though it doesn't really mention the persistent injuries that got in the way. By the time he had settled at Milan, buried his disagreements with Capello and become an important player during later parts of 93/94 then 94/95 and 95/96 seasons his body started to quickly give up on him. A few more years of regular play (though Milan were past their cycle of greatness by then anyway) and a good showing at World cup '98 could have helped his legacy.

Fergie should have bought, I know there was difficulties but as soon as they were lifted, we should have been first in, he had first hand experience of his brilliance

Talented as anyone. Lazier than anyone

His teammates could tell which version they got based on whether he changed tv channel himself or asked others to do it for him(while having the remote 2 inches from his hand) :lol:

The days he was up for it he was unplayable, basically would win by himself

Berlusconi's favourite player, and more generally a big favourite of every milan fan ever

Great player. That whole generation is something unique in Football : Savicevic, Stojkovic, Prosinecki, Boban, Mihajlovic, probably the best midfielders a country produced in one generation . There was something special in the air in ex-Yugoslavia. And it wasn't only football, basketball players from that era were very special too.
They had something very playful, borderline artistic in the way they approached the game. And they combined that flair with the crazy authoritarian work and team ethic still prevalent in communist countries at that time.
That being said, I have no idea why this youtuber felt the need to accelerate old footage, it makes it unwatchable.
