Didn't find this easy tbh.
Anyway this is what I came up with. Good side with a good balance throughout!

Loved this, but it was tricky. This is a bit off the top of my head. And yes, I've left out Ronaldo, sue me. I wanted one of Serie A's many, many superb CBs. You can sub Koulibaly out for Skriniar, Bonucci, Chiellini... whoever you like. And yes, until 1 July, Ziyech is still at Ajax, so at time of posting this works!

GK - Fernando Muslera - Galatasaray - Turkey
RB - James Tavernier - Rangers - Scotland
CB - Kalidou Koulibaly - Napoli - Italy
CB - Virgil Van Dijk - Liverpool - England
LB - Alex Telles - Porto - Portugal
CM - Joshua Kimmich - Bayern Munich - Germany
CM - Wilmar Barrios - Zenit St Petersburg - Russia
AM - Lionel Messi - Barcelona - Spain
AM - Hakim Ziyech - Ajax - Netherlands
FW - Kylian Mbappe - PSG - France
FW - Jonathan David - KAA Gent - Belgium

EDIT: Feck I forgot Alves plays in Brazil now! Poor James Tavernier, clear out your desk lad.

Not sure I agree with you there. Bringing in a 37 yr old who's seen his better days??

I did one of these recently but took it a step further where they could never have played for the same team whether that club or country. So with that for example, you couldn't have both Blind and VVD as they are both Dutch and you couldn't have both Blind and CR7 because they both have played for United. My team looked like this:
----------------------------------------Given-------------------------------
Lahm---------------VVD------------------Koulibaly--------Maldini
------------------------------------Vieiri----------------------------------------
----------------DeBruyne----------------JayJay Okacha--------------
Messi------------------------Halland---------------------------CR7

BTW.....Jonathan David is an out and out striker not a #10 and as a fellow Canadian I hope the rumours are true about United being interested in him...

How is Cristiano not getting in some of these teams. He's a sure thing as much as Messi.
But you can potentially improve the overall team by more if you don't include him.

Take my side vs the OP's, for example. Instead of Ronaldo, I've included Ziyech. Their combined goals+assists stats for this season are actually the same, 29. Ziyech has mostly assists and Ronaldo mostly goals. Well, both of our sides already include Messi, Mbappe and David, all prolific goalscorers. Wouldn't a prolific assist-maker be a better addition to those three than Ronaldo, who only made 4 assists in the whole of this season?

On top of that, by not choosing Ronaldo, I've been able to take my pick of Serie A's brilliant CBs to partner VVD, whereas the OP has had to choose Daley Blind - respectable, but not on the same level as Skriniar, Chiellini, or in the case of my side Koulibaly.

Ronaldo doesn't make much sense in a side that has other star goalscorers. Dybala is the only Juventus regular in that category and he only scored 10 this season, so that shows you that Ronaldo eats up goalscoring opportunities in whatever side you put him in.

EDIT: Also just on a basic level Messi's stats are simply better than Ronaldo's this season.
