Where is his right hand man 'Keefy' in his hour of need? Surprised he's not setting us straight on what a great job he's done.

Right here and reasonably happy with our window.

Did folks not bitch about how poor defensively we have been for years? Did we not break a world record to bring Harry here? Did we not get one of the best right backs in the league?

We've added pace and work rate with James.

Past your constant childish demands of want, want and want some more Ole and Mike have done brilliant work off the pitch.

But, my sentiments are wasted on posters like this cause all you want to do is bitch n moan and not support the club at all.

Try enjoy the game if your able to.

Wow, you are actually complimenting him for doing half of the required job.

    - We didn't replace Herrera (please don't come up with academy lads bs)
    - No senior CF at the club (Lukaku not being replaced even after Ole repeatedly mentioned that those who will leave will be replaced)

There's a 2nd position there. The dude will point to that and will talk about positives.

Yeah wonderful propaganda rubbish from a rag paper.

If that's the foundation of your argument then you've already lost.

McTominay is Ander's replacement and sorry but your childish response says it all...that we use academy players is "bs". That's our history, if you can't support that ideal feck off an support City who ignore their youth cause it sure as hell sounds like you hate United with a passion looking at your constant abuse of the club.

Again, Greenwood is Lukau's replacement. Don't like it, United aren't the club for you then it's that simple.

You might find more happiness supporting a plastic club like City or Real instead.

How dare you show our league positions over the last 6 years. Cant be exposing that... a true red will keep it hush and suck it up, otherwise you're spoilt and entitled.

In all seriousness, it is a painful thing to see, what we used to be to where we are now, and how bad the past 6 years have been. Even that 2nd position didn't feel like we did well as we were miles off first place.

You're using the Sun, your argument is invalid.

A rag paper that is spear headed by clowns like Custic a Jose arse licker who derides the club at any and every opportunity he can.

Reality is this, Ole has spoken out a lot recently and said he got exactly the players he wanted.

The club grew some balls and didn't just sign players for the hell of us either and become an ATM for them like in recent years.

But of course to you lot in here its not an intelligent discussion, there's no middle ground and logic to be found here in attempting to discuss it so I'm going to log off and enjoy watching today's game and hopefully see some of these "bs" youth players get mins and play well hopefully.

Our best years were with Mourinho. In terms of points and trophies. Last summer was the key where we missed the chance. We should have bought him players what he wanted.
We bought them anyway one year later( winger, defender and full back).

Btw, i know that this is totally unpopular opinion here on caf.

@Keefy18 Knows that the Sun's graphic outlining our finishes in the Premier League for the last 6 seasons is just anti-United propaganda. Pack it in guys, he's on to us!

I would have been reasonably happy with the window if we had got in one more experienced CM. Its not just Herrera that needed replacing, so did Fellaini.
One experienced CM and a real prospect like Longstaff (combined with letting a player like Pereira go) would have made it a very good window.
But now to be fair it was an underwhelming window and not good enough.
Who is to blame is another matter.
People bitching about not replacing Lukaku I dont get though. Everyone seems to want Greenwood to play; well thats what you are going to get now.

Martial is senior with 5 seasons experience. I accept your point about Herrera. You forget to mention Fellaini not being replaced and Matic going stale. We really needed a CDM. Should've bought one.

Mourinho wrecked it for Ole. Left him with an unsuitable squad.
    • A useless player on £450k/week.
    • slow, error-prone, aging CDM who cost £40 only 2 years previously.
    • £55m midfielder who plays no known position.
    • £75m centre forward with no 1st touch.
    • defence leakier than ancient plumbing
    • stack of players we don't want
Apart from an improved youth system, I don't see any positives from Mourinho's time.

The market turned a few years ago with the influx of even more TV money and player prices doubled. United spent over £½ billion in the last 6 transfer windows. The money was badly spent. Given how sloppy Mourinho was in the transfer market and the doubling of prices he was never going to make it work here.

    Ideally, yes.

But there are no quick fixes here man sadly. Looking at today's team it truly does feel like a completely new start now with Ole. I think if everything is considered and not just looking specifically at transfers, Ole's done a smashing job this transfer window.

    • AWB in for Young.
    • McTominator for Matic
    • Vic & 'Arry for Jones & Smalling
    • Greenwood & James in, Wig & Rom gone!
Basically every single player that has roundly been slated as simply not good enough for United has dropped down the pecking order or gone.

This is before we factor in the new playing style, improved work rate and fitness.

We've tonne of options for RW.

Sanchez, Rashford, Greenwood, James can all play RW no bother.

Lingard and Mata have played RW as well, not overly effectively but they have.

 I support United not Woodward. Who the feck are you to tell me who to support? You are content with being average and not me and I don't blame you because you love the CEO more than the club.

Keep your head buried in sand.

Watching Maguire makes me scrutinise Woodward even more, there is no way we would have had the season we had last year had he just brought him when Mourinho made him a top target but thought our defenders were good enough, I think we missed out on champions league football because of that decision.

Oh yeah, we looked "average" today didn't we.

Just smashed a rival team 4-0!

    :lol::lol:

I'd say today killed you seeing that result, gives you less ammo to come back on here to slate the club with.

Maybe he didn’t trust Mourinho managing him? I don’t agree just playing devils advocate. He had given Jose his 2 CB signings each season in Bailly and Lindelof, can’t really blame the reservation in giving him a 3rd.

However your 100% we don’t finish outside top 4 if his signed.

He's very fortunate that the manager and his team won't kick a fuss and will get on with the task in front of them. Little of the credit should go to him for sure.

Or maybe, just maybe Leicester done similar to us with Ronaldo and asked for a final year from him and refused to sell?

To ensure they got top dollar for him and Harry being a respectful lad just like Ronaldo he signed a new deal so LCFC got their pay off.

#Mindblowing not really, just common sense.

I would rather wait for this season to unfold than decide the outcome based on one game.

Again, I don't slate the club but the clueless CEO running it. But apparently wanting this club to achieve the levels of it's past greatness is a tad bit more these days according to brainwashed Woody lovers like you.

So if the team performs like it done today does he get praise?

I mean if your blaming the team on him being shit, surely it should also go the opposite way too that when its good...he deserves praise for that also?

    Fairs fair right??

Heck, your love of this thread is getting a bit unhealthy now.

Ed will get judged on the bigger picture at the end of the season as he always is.

Your bloody right I'm loving it now!

Hang on, but you lot have been judging him already on an apparent $hit transfer window and told everyone our season was a write off?

Changing the goal posts to suit your pathetic agenda.

I gave Ed some credit for the window, however, just because we've had one result doesn't mean he can/should be resting on his laurels.

It's obvious to the world what we still need. Hopefully Ed spends the next 7/8 months lining up deals so that come July 1st, rather than beginning negotiations we already know who we want and are in with a chance of getting

And Woodward singling out the manager for all the woes and sacking them is what you agree with.

Managers are responsible, but Woodward is not?

Interesting to see Perisic deal, seems like it was perhaps the right call from Woodward, not to dispose of Martial in favour of him. Would have been a short term and expensive signing.

Do you realise if we finish in top 4 it would be in spite of Woodward and not because of Woodward's great job.

But it's not Woodward's job to sack himself, that decision is placed firmly on the shoulders of top tier management, the club's owners, the Glazers, and they aren't about to sack perhaps the football worlds leading commercial finance expert. The guy brings large quantities of money into the club, and his job remains safe until that stops being true.

We need to keep Woodward at the club in a strictly commercial aspect and put a DoF in place to take charge of our transfer business alone. I honestly don't know why that didn't happen this summer, especially with all the noise coming out of the club convincing us that this was the plan, but it has to happen before next summer comes around or we're stuck with dithering Ed for another hugely important transfer window.

Do you expect people to make their views on a game by game basis? We won a game 4-0, and for you that means Woodward's strategy and actions are now vindicated?

What part of 'we've not even challenged for the league in 6 years, and finished many points behind the winner every time' don't you understand? In that context, Woodward has performance has been an abomination. Absolutely dreadful. Beating a confused and depleted Chelsea does not change a thing.

I'm not even that impressed by his financial returns, and am sure Daniel Levy, Peter Moore or David Gill would have generated the same level of financial growth, but they would also have delivered on the pitch too.

For it to be a 'fair fight', Im looking for 6 years of seriously competing for the title (winning a few too), whilst making some money. Yeah, then it's a 'fair fight' in terms of praise vs criticism.
