Everton manager David Moyes has ruled out a move for Manchester United midfielder Nicky Butt and admitted the club are not in the position to bring in any new signings.
Butt has revealed he is considering his future at United after growing increasingly frustrated by his lack of first-team opportunities.

Leicester City and Everton have been linked with the England international, but Moyes concedes The Toffees could not afford a deal for Butt.

"If you are linking me with him, that is very nice. He is a good player and I would be happy to have him," said Moyes.

"Nicky Butt is a great player and I would not say no to him. But this is the first I have heard about it, I know nothing about it.

"We are not thinking about new players, it is well documented that we do not have the finances to bring any players in. That is a fact.

"But that is not just us, it is the same with a big majority of Premiership clubs and we do not have the finances to do any deals."
