Chelsea with yet another home draw and league 2 opponents. I swear their odds of drawing a PL team away must be bigger then winning lotto!

Delighted. Ben Foster’s GoPro will be at OT :D Can’t wait for that YouTube video already.

Btw, if Spurs lose to Marine, can we call that the biggest one-off shock in footballing history? Surely it has to be.

Umm, it's the first time we've drawn a league two side in the FA Cup since 2007!

Villa away, easy.
Definite loss for you that. Especially in this current climate, Klopp will put out a team of kids while Villa try to win with a few first choice players and some squaddies. Probably a repeat of the league game :D

You get a home tie against a lower division team - you can't complain

Normally I'd hate our draw but yeah Liverpool always go understrength in early rounds even if they're playing a prem team, can remember them giving 3-4 debuts out when they played Wolves away two years ago so with all Klopp's whining it would be weird for him to suddenly put a full strength team out from whoever is fit. Perhaps no replays might swing it though, we'll see.

Marine-Spurs is what 3rd round of cup is all about, will be 1.6k in for that if they don't change tiers system over xmas.

Chelsea getting their annual home tie against lower league part timers.

3rd round since 2007:

2008- QPR (home)- lower league
2009- Southend (home)- lower league (needed a replay to get past them aswell)
2010- Watford (home)- non prem
2011- Ipswich (home)- championship
2012- Portsmouth (home)- non prem (can't remember at that point what division Pompey actually were in)
2013- Southampton (away)- prem
2014- Derby (away)- championship
2015- Watford (again)- home (again)
2016- Scunthorpe (home)
2017- Peterborough (home)
2018- Norwich (away)
2019- Forest (home)
2020- Forest (home)- that isn't a typo!

Two away draws and just one prem team drawn in 13 ties before today!

Fourth year in a row for us drawn against a Premier League club in the 3rd round, can understand it in the later draws but when it's 3rd round knowing theres all these league 2 and non league teams around it's gets annoying. Would have loved a Marine or Chorley. But it will be another year of Klopp making sacrifices..weakened team, Klopp Kids, talk of the 7-2, moaning about games & injuries..etc can't be arsed with it.

Might be an opportunity to give our two summer wide signings some minutes provided that Diallo gets his permit sorted

Already had his say on the Cavani situation on Talksport today as well
Hes a massive bellend. If you've went to jail for assault you should be banned from football forever.

He should be banned for just looking like that commander troll thing off LOTR anyway.

Would say so. Marine are only the second team ever from the eight tier to reach the FA cup third round, up against the current Premier League leaders. Incredible tie.

Yep, Liverpool is the best of any PL team you could wish for. We should be putting out an even weaker team than we did against Villa two seasons ago and lost 5-0. I will probably never have heard of at least half our team on the day.

And @Dancfc was trying to deny how easy Chelsea get it every single fecking year!

Out of boredom I thought i'd look at the Utd 3rd Round draws since 2007

2008 Villa Away Prem
2009 Southampton Away non prem
2010 Leeds Home non prem
2011 Liverpool Home Prem
2012 City Away Prem
2013 West Ham Away Prem
2014 Swansea Home Prem
2015 Yeovil Away non prem
2016 Sheff Utd Home non Prem
2017 Reading Home non Prem
2018 Derby home non Prem
2019 Reading Home (again) non Prem
2020 Wolves Away Prem

Much much harder run than Chelsea, 6 away ties out of 13 and 6 Premier League teams. We had a good run with cup draws under Van Gaal and Mourinho though, our run from 2015 to 2019 with them in charge for the draws are much easier than the rest.

Fergie had terrible luck with cup draws in his last 10 years or so at the club and Ole has had pretty shit luck with cup draws too.

Hopefully Marine will be able to allow some supporters.
Yeah. That and the television revenue from playing the current top side in England could set them up for a long, long while.

Our game against Watford is cramped in between a League Cup semi final and a must-win match against Burnley (prior to facing Liverpool).

Surely we rest every important player for this match. No Cavani, maybe Greenwood up top. Jesse can either celebrate his contract extension or get in the shop window. I'd even play Rojo and a 20% fit Jones.

edit: Ighalo with us until the end of Jan or what? He might fancy playing against his old side.

Henderson, James, Williams, Lingard, Mata, James Telles should all play 90 in this one.

Then probably 2 of Matic/McTom/Fred/Pogba.

Maybe Greenwood 90 up front.

Some people are obsessed with trophies but seriously the way this season is going we just have to play a second string in this . If Lingard,Mata,James etc beat Watford that's great but otherwise you just take the L and move on . My feeling is that we if lose to city then we will see a strong team for this

Yeah, I'd hope so. I'd preserve both McTominay and Fred. Probably Pogba too. VDB should get 90 minutes here. If there are youth players knocking on the door, which there are, this should be the game to blood them (Mengi for instance).

I hope not.

So City could have put out a team of internationals but because a few couldn't play a game was called off, but Villa can go with the U23s.

This needs to be sorted to preserve some level playing field.
