Groundbreaking info if you're in the scene.

Ushering in a paradigm shift:

Any serious FG players here?

Officially the best poker player on RAWK.
Nope.

I did once absolutely destroy a load of Asian players in a SF2 tourny at the Trocadero though. Didn't think much of it at the time until seeing it covered in the likes of Edge.

Some insane skills on display in these tournaments, ridiculous reaction times!

Why do YouTube videos all have someone pulling that face?

I did some research into this a few years ago. People identify with faces better than visuals/text which is why shots of people/groups are so heavily used in marketing.

It's supposed to be a hang up from infancy where we learn to recognise our primary caregiver's facial expressions.

It instantly makes me refuse to press play on the video but then I don’t think I’m the audience.

Apparently it is what makes people click on the video. There are jobs now where people are tasked with solely making thumbnails for videos. It's mad.

Glad for the players. No, was into watching the events from about 2010-2018 or so. But I never stopped sucking at playing fighting games myself. Respect to the great players though

Strugle to enjoy fighting game. Most of the pros are too good it's a chain of combos with little resistance.

Not saying it doesn't take skill but it's no fun to watch compared to like SC2 or even DoTa or similar esport.

What a waste of money.
What do you mean?

Genius move from Capcom, which will do the marketing and promotion for them. The player who wins that prize will have gone through the most arduous journey in FG history.

I'm quite good at Tekken for a non serious player. Was also not bad at Street Fighter 4, but I dont have the time to ram all the muscle memory crap into my fingers anymore.

Time to learn Street Fighter I guess.

Lesson 1: learn how to play the game
Lesson 2: stop looking at Chun Li's legs

I actively avoid any video that has someone making that face in the thumbnail
