I thought this deserves a separate thread. I posted it first in the ownership thread.

Was expecting the credits to “Yes Minister” to start rolling after. But seriously, great impassioned plea by Galloway.

Rare these days to see an MP speaking without notes, too many of them have speeches and motions written by secretary's.
Of course everything he said is right.
United fans did try to stop the Glazers, but they didn't haven't the backing of the major shareholders who sold out for 30 pieces of silver, many of us held out until we were forced to sell.

As long as the Glazers are here they will continue to drain us as they always have; it was a disaster to allow them to buy us in the manner they did... a disaster for the whole country given the significance of the club. It would be the same if it were the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Forest, Villa etc.

Nice work actually having a real fan of football talking about the problems that modern fans face as opposed those mindless drones that are supposed to represent voters interests.

He talks a lot of sense on this occasion. Unfortunately, it's likely he'll be ignored by the power mongers across Parliament because they don't speak his language.

He obviously knows a thing or two about fat cats milking everything it's worth, maybe he can give the Glazers more tickles.

He really is a world class speaker, shame he's such a bollocks. Absolutely spot on in this case though, glad to see someone speak out against the ownership model in the PL properly.

Agree with him and the Clearlake disaster makes it clearer by the day, there should be the golden share with the majority of clubs owned by the fans. Football isn't a business like in US sports with franchises... Need a hybrid model between the two but with fan majority ownership.

That speech is like spoken from Cantona's mouth. Finally someone who just goes full blast on behalf of the fans on the subject.

Regardless of whether it was deemed legal back then when it happened, questions need to be asked of the people in charge back then as to why such a takeover was allowed back then.

It boggles the mind of how it was allowed.

Nope, even with this headline not listening to anything from Galloway.
